Reviews of Oncology Consultants Pearland Office
"Dr Sam, Carrie, Gina and the entire staff are amazing!!"
"The office staff is very rude, I asked after my first visit is the wait going to be this long again over an hour and they said no. I called the day of my second appointment running behind because they didn't send me an appointment reminder just like my first visit and now there making me wait another 2 weeks to see the doctor even though the doctor is running late again? (I told the lady om the phone so even if I was there I'd still be waiting an hour what's the difference if I get there in 10min?) .... I asked if I could speak to someone about any results the first desk girl transferred me to a vm, I called a 2nd time got another women at the front desk and she was extremely rude stating were busy and so are the nurses. I left a vm for them to call me back but I know they won't because after 2 visits the vibe of the front desk and people answering the phone is they don't care about nothing. The doctor is sweet but I will not be coming back after my second visit because the front desk is so rude and disrespectful both girls I talked to at 4pm on 7/19/22."
"I never leave reviews but today I decided I needed to share. If nothing else maybe someone within the office will make a change. I may not be important due to my little iron infusion in the scheme of things but at the end of the day I am a person - with a heart and am hard working in the medical field myself. I arrived and after signing in I had a seat to wait for my name to be called. Now they do not open the window to acknowledge you or make you aware that they have you arrived. I am well aware that people go back for different reasons but after everyone else left the waiting room, even someone who came in after me, I wanted to be sure I did not get overlooked. Again, being in the medical field I am aware accidents happen. I simply went to the frosted glass window and tapped to let them know I had a quick question. They were busy talking about something so I waiting for a few moments and then after a few moments I tapped again incase they did not hear me. I did not use force because I was not irritated, I was merely trying to make eye contact and confirm yes they did see me come in. The young woman opened the glass and was still talking so I was patient while she finished. She then addressed me with an elevated voice and a slight irritation behind it. " YES MRS ROSE." I was a little bothered by this because I had not been impolite nor has she addressed me yet at this visit. I simply stated that I just wanted to make sure they had me checked in because someone that came in after me already went back. (The girl does not know that I am stepping away from work during an extended lunch break to do these iron infusions. Nor that when I arrive back at work I will have a patient waiting on me. So I desperately try not to be late with my infusion. I arrived at 1:45 to check in and did not get called back until 2:20 pm, my appt is at 2 pm. ) She proceeds to explain in an unprofessional tone that yes I was checked in and that the other patients are probably seeing physicians and that is why they were called back. She was rude. I won't sugar coat that at all. It was unprofessional and very hurtful because I was making sure I was not rude but just being sure they did see me. I said again "as I said I was only making sure that you were aware that I was here." She proceeded to say yes with a short response and close the window. I was extremely hurt. I perform mammograms for a living and if I came to work with that attitude how many women would be hurt or be uncomfortable with such a hateful greeting. I got called to the back and after sitting down I began to let tears flow. I am a kind person and she took me from a cheerful mood to a hurt mood very quickly. A simple yes Mrs. Rose we arrived you and they will be with you shortly would have worked. Instead she hurt my feelings and as a woman, mother, and full time employee life weights you down and one hateful action from someone can break you. I write this mostly to share with others in healthcare that it is your job to show kindness in all interactions even if they irritate you. You never know what else is occurring in their personal and work lives. Especially a medical facility that takes care of cancer patients. I am only there for iron infusions but I too have feelings and a little kindness in this world would go a long way and it can only start with you."
"Dr Kathy Sam is the most well organized, efficient Dr I have seen. Her staff is knowledgeable and she communicates with them thoroughly so they perform their jobs at best. Dr Sam is respectful and considerate: I felt like I was talking to a friend who cared that we both understood each other."
"Dr. Sam and the Pearland team are very professional and personable, she and her staff show genuine concern for their patients health, treatments as well as their physical and mental well being. They are willing to work with you regarding your appointment schedule, dietary needs - even suggesting foods, beverages and meals, in addition to vitamins. As a patient with them since 2016/2017 I have felt comfortable with this group handling my medical needs. I tell them that I’m doing as well as I am because I have the “Best Doctor and Nurses” working with me. If you are feeling ... “Some Kind Of Way” - Don’t hesitate to discuss your feelings and thoughts with them BECAUSE: They Are Here To HELP Make Our Journey Smoother and Easier."
