Reviews of Texas Oncology-Houston Memorial City
"I've been trying for a week to get a new patient hematologist appointment and no one will do it. I've left several voicemails on the new patient call tree. Also talked with Zuly who seemed like she was going to handle what the call tree voicemails hadn't. She's never followed-up with me and has also ignored my personal voicemails. Each time I've explained my post-surgery needs. No one seems to care."
"Why 3 Stars? I would bring my mother here regularly as she has to be monitored. Been going to them about 4 years now. NP Gutierrez is exceptional. If we just had to deal with her, we would give her 5 stars easy. But dealing with the office staff is exhausting and annoying. They do not use their listening ears. I have been at the end of, and witness them in front of me, gaslight patients because they don’t listen at all. They can be “nice” but they are horrible at doing their jobs. Dr Doshi. Avoid this doctor like the plague. She is not professional at all. Makes patients wait to no end so she can gossip and small talk with her staff, and she has zero bedside manners. We have moved away from this place due to the office staff and the Dr. We will miss working with NP Gutierrez. Very great medical professional."
"My review of Texas Oncology at the Memorial Hermann is as a care giver for my father. While my father was going through immunotherapy, we were lucky to go through the journey with two medical professionals Dr. Morkkus and nurse practitioner Gutierrez. They were both encouraging and made the doctor visits very helpful. However my three stars is based on their office staff, the ladies who check you in. They don’t have the same level of empathy as the medical professionals which is sad to experience since they are dealing with cancer patients. There needs to a level of care and understanding on all things from checking in to scheduling appointments. If I could turn back time I wish we had gone to a bigger well known hospital but my father wanted a smaller more intimate treatment process."
"Quite happy my PCP connected me with Dr. Cairo and PA Tran. The attention to detail and patient care is above any service I have received. Questions are answered in a manner that I can understand, they are always available for questions, They both spend considerable amount of time in treatment explanations, which puts my mind at ease. Their team is understanding and flexible, and most of all patient during these stressful times. The infusion Team is loving, patient and they explain the infusion every step of the way. I feel quite grateful that this entire team, collectively, is working to save my life."
"As a newly diagnosed cancer patient you have the worst fears going for your first visit. I am not the patient, but my mother is. She was scared to death, she had no idea what the next step would be. Dr. Monica Dessai took her time. She explained everything to us in such a delicate manner. She held my mother as my mother cried, there I realized this wasn't just her job. She's been so helpful even with all the problems we've had with her insurance company. She is truly those kind of doctors you need when fighting a sickness like this. I recommend her 100%, her and her staff are great people."
