Dr. Amanda Bucheit

Dr. Amanda Bucheit is a board-certified oncologist and hematologist practicing at the START Center's Sonterra location in San Antonio, Texas. Originally from Boone, Iowa, Dr. Bucheit received her bachelor's degree from Luther College and her medical degree from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine. She completed her residency in internal medicine at the University of Michigan and fellowship training in hematology and oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.

During her time at MD Anderson, Dr. Bucheit focused on melanoma research and published several papers in the field. She was recognized with the Humanities Award for her exceptional clinical skills and compassionate care. Dr. Bucheit has a special interest in treating melanoma, lung cancer, and gastrointestinal malignancies, but she also provides care for all cancer types.
