He handled my situation with professionalism and grace, chasing away much of my anxiety upon first meeting with him. Approachable, he took the time needed to explain things in a straightforward manner and answered my many questions. Because he managed my pain so well post-surgery, I was able to return home that next morning, and two days later I was back working at my desk. As a student rotator it is our duty to learn as much as we can from both the physician and the patients. We are taught to observe how the physician handles himself, communicate w/ their patients, and decide what we want to take with us to our future practice and what we don’t. With that being said… Dr. Joseph de la Garza is who I will strive to be like as a future practicing physician. Like I stated previously, I got to see hundreds of his interactions, examinations, and surgeries… he cares. As a future physician, I am not particularly interested in OB/Gyn and have no incentive to write this review, but I think every person should have a doctor like Dr. de la Garza in their corner."
