"For the last 5 years my wife as been a patient of MD Anderson and has to go there every 3 weeks. We contacted the Mays clinic to consider transferring her treatment to San Antonio. They transferred me to the OB clinic in the MARC bldg and we had all pt records transferred and met with one of the Oncologist about 3 weeks later. They scheduled my wife’s infusion at University Hospital which was confusing. Why not at the May’s Clinic? My wife did her immunotherapy there and unfortunately it’s not the same level of service as MD Anderson Houston so I contacted the OB department and said we want her treatment at the Mays, M D Anderson building. They provide infusion services. The Oncologist said they do not have contracts to do any services at the Mays Clinic and operate independently from the Mays Clinic. So The Mays Clinic does not have any OB oncologist associated ”directly” with Mays clinic. It’s a clinic without OB cancer care. It’s in name only. All their websites refer to them being associated with MD Anderson which they are not!! It appears like false advertising. They are also extremely under staffed and very poor communication and response. I’ve tried to get a contact with UT upper management because no one can make decisions. If I were the May’s family I’d ask why OB Oncology services are not provider on site in their building!!! We have rescheduled back in Houston even though we live in Boerne. The organization is so disorganized even the employees aren’t sure what they provide."
"don’t waste you time or money at MD Anderson. they can careless about you and are interested only in youInsurance or money they say the best way to communicate with them is through the Portal. well they may get back to you in a month. it’s been the worst experience for me. your better off finding someone close to where you live that really cares about you as a patient and who really wants to help. Oncology of San Antonio has given me and my family just that. they care about and treat you like some looking for help. from the receptionist to all the staff and Doctors. nurses who really care about you. not the same at MD Anderson. Your just a number to Nurses and Doctors."
"As a cancer survivor I do fear when there is unexplainable pain. I visited Mays in February because I was scared with a pain in my side that would not go away. Alexis McKinney behaved in a very flippant manner regarding my pain and even suggested that I was making it up! In front of my husband she recommended that I see a therapist for anxiety. The pain continued and got worse so I visited the women's gynecological oncology department where I was told I had a tear in my muscle and given muscle relaxers. When the pain would still not go away, I went to the Pavilion urgent care where I was found to have two kidney stones, 4mm + 2mm and a kidney infection. Because of neglect by Alexis McKinney it took a month to get diagnosed properly and had to take antibiotics for the infection. Alexis McKinney has terrible and very poor bedside manner. The disgusting way she treated me will not be forgotten and should in fact be looked at further by her superiors at Mays Cancer Center. You also have my contact details to reach me."
"I have had nothing but positive experiences with the Surgical Oncology and Endocrine Surgery division at MD Anderson. I feel grateful that I was able to be under the care of Dr. Colin Court and his team. I was extremely nervous going in, but Dr. Court made me feel at ease immediately. His nurse, Demetria, has been awesome as well answering any questions I had and staying in contact with me over the phone. The whole office is well organized and welcoming. As far as my procedure, again, Dr. Court and his team were exceptional on informing me of all details of the surgery. I knew I was in good care and the surgery was successful. Highly recommend the Surgical Oncology and Endocrine Surgery department. I wish I could address everyone by name, but the receptionists and nurses have all been wonderful."
