Reviews of Patrick Andrew Huddleston, MD
"Dr. Huddleston is absolutely amazing. We were shocked at how great the results were of my husband's prostrate surgery. After the surgery he has gone back to normal like he used to be years ago. After surgery he was not given, nor did he need any pain medicine whatsoever. We believe that there isn't a better surgeon for prostate surgery in the USA. If you are needing prostrate surgery it will worth your time to go to Dr. Huddleston regardless of where you live. Chester Ray"
"Let me start out by saying I give Dr. Patrick Huddleston MD 5 Stars. If I could give more than 5 Stars I would. He performed HoLEP surgery on me approximately a year ago. I highly recommend him to perform HoLEP. My story is like a lot of other older men. I’ve had BHP for many years, and I was taking a FlowMax type of drug for many of those years. My experience was that the drugs were not helping much, as I was getting up 4, 5 or 6 times a night to urinate. I decided I want to get off some of my prescriptions, AND start to get a better night’s sleep. I was already seeing another doctor at Urology Partners of North Texas (UPNT) so I discussed my options with that doctor. He recommended a couple different options, including Blue Light Laser, and UroLift. I started down the Urolift path. First step was a cystoscopy. Turns out I was not a candidate for UroLift. At that point I decided I needed to do my own research of what procedure would be the best for me, with the fewest side effects and highest probability of satisfying my goals. I determined that HoLEP was the best option for me. I spoke with my then Urologist, and he said that UPNT had just hired a new urologist that is trained in performing the HoLEP surgery, Dr Huddleston. I immediately setup a consultation with Dr. Huddleston. He answered all of my questions, and provided me with additional material to review. He was a good listener, and allowed me to ask all my questions. I determined that Dr. Huddleston is who I wanted to perform the surgery. But, I also wanted my wife to meet Dr. Huddleston and ask her questions. We met with the doctor and he gave us all the answers to our questions and the time to make sure we understood what the procedure would do, and the side effects. We made the decision to have Dr. Huddleston perform HoLEP surgery. We were very happy with Dr Huddleston throughout the whole process, including the follow-up visits."
"I was referred to Dr Huddleston after my first laser surgery failed within a year of the procedure. I was back to my old ways and having to get up at night 4 or 5 times. At the same time I was having hernia problems that needed surgery. Dr Huddleston worked with my other surgeon to schedule both surgeries back to back which was great for me! Dr Huddleston performed the HoLEP procedure which hollowed out my prostrate. I am about 9 months post surgery and doing great! I am back like it was years ago with no problems. Another plus my PSA is down to .7. Thanks Dr Huddleston!"
"I am 73 years old and have been battling enlarged prostate issues off and on for 4 years. My enlarged prostate restricted (and at times blocked) urinary flow resulting in several emergency room visits, countless urinary catheter insertions (15 at last count), various medications, and 2 TURP procedures to try and re-establish normal urinary flow. My prostate tissue continued to grow back after the TURP's, diminishing their long-term effectiveness and resulting in further restriction and blockage. I had been on blood thinners which complicated and constrained the effectiveness of the TURP procedures. I was referred to Dr. Huddleston who evaluated my history and current condition and suggested I would be a good candidate for a relatively new procedure he had been extensively trained in - Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate. Dr. Huddleston took the necessary time to thoroughly explain what to expect with the surgery and recovery and answered all my numerous questions and concerns. I agreed and Dr. Huddleston performed the HoLEP surgery 5 months ago and it has been a resounding success. The out-patient surgery was minimally invasive and the recovery period was relatively brief and uneventful. I am no longer troubled by urinary retention or blockage, weak stream, urgency, or multiple trips to the bathroom at night. I have come to trust Dr. Huddleston's judgment, applaud his surgical skills, and very much appreciate the outstanding personal care and concern he and his staff exhibited for my well-being throughout the entire process."
"I suffered from an enlarged prostrate for 18 years. At first, I was prescribed Flomax. I experienced some relief from the medicine but it was less than optimal. The longer I used the Flomax the less effective it became. I finally reached the point that I was becoming desperate for relief from incontinence combined with reduced flow. I had an appointment with Dr. Huddleston and after a couple of simple test, I was informed that I was a candidate for a minimally invasive laser procedure called HoLEP. I decided to have the HoLEP procedure and the results were remarkable. It has been 12 weeks since I had the procedure and 100% of my symptoms have been resolved! I no longer experience any incontinence, difficulty to start the flow, sense of urgency to get to the bathroom or inability to completely empty my bladder. I no longer get up 2-3 times a night to go to the bathroom. I feel like I am 20 years old again. Dr. Huddleston has had a profoundly positive affect on my quality of life. I owe a debt of gratitude to Dr. Huddleston and the ladies in his office that cared for me throughout the entire course of treatment."
