"This place needs some help. I got a gyro sandwich and a side Greek salad. The sandwich was built so strangely. Why is the sauce put into the pita first? You get no sauce until you’re at your last bites. It was very dry because of that. And for $6 the salad was disappointing. Lettuce, cucumbers and olives. And such a small portion. Dressing was good though. The atmosphere is “cheap back room dank”. Tables weren’t clean."
"I purchased a falafel sandwich on the 8th floor of the UIHC cafe. There was no humus and instead, it was filled with plain chick peas and the wrap disintegrated causing a confetti effect of chickpeas falling to the ground. There was no sauce as described. Someone requires training in the kitchen because I know that this wrap is usually quite tasty."
"Great portion sizes, delicious falafels and hummus, and all three types of meat I had (chicken, gyro, and beef kafta) were amazing! Also I loved the sides (couscous, madjadra rice, best olives and pickles), and the restaurant offers a nice, friendly atmosphere. Will be back!"
"On a Midwest scale I would say slightly below average but on a local scale within Iowa City itself probably considered pretty good by most. The food portions we're slightly smaller then I would have hoped. Overall I would say the price does reflect the quality of the food. Menu items pictured in the post that we tried include the gyro, and the sample platter which consisted of hummus, falafel, pita, and roasted chicken with veggies. See attached pictures and video. The staff was super friendly and super helpful. Our weight was much longer than I would have hoped. Almost 30 minutes. Come to find out our order was given to a different table so the server brought out a punch card for a free meal next time we stop in. It's a very small establishment but overall good environment. The restrooms were as clean as you would expect and parking is a little bit difficult to come by but there's a lot of side roads to park on."
"My favorite restaurant in Iowa City. Not the cheapest food around, but it’s truly quality. The falafel and the hummus are some of the best I’ve had. I usually get the half gyro (which is plenty) along with chips and hummus. But the chicken shawarma is also very good. It’s pretty small inside, but there’s lots of Outdoor seating around if it’s nice out. You won’t be disappointed!"
