"We financed three homes with this company. On the third they added a document and inspection fee 'accidentally,' at the last second. It was too late to change the paperwork as it was just a day before closing. We had no inspection on the house so the fee was totally in error and more than $1200 (I guess to fund an inspection we never had on this house). I figured they would pay us back. Nope. They said nothing in response to multiple inquiries. They simply took the money. Sloppy all over, poor communication, much slower than they were years ago, and that's a lot of money to take. They also had a severe security breach and now VU customers are at risk of a lot of identity theft. They sold both of my mortgages to very low quality mortgage service companies... the kind that want $7.95 per electronic payment. So don't be fooled by the very nice website... you won't get to use it throughout the mortgage. These guys are literally the worst."
