"Dr. Jones & Ms. Nikki are amazing. They cared for my exotic reptile and he is on the mend. Amazing humans who love animals and are experienced. Highly recommended. Be prepared to pay for the highest level of quality care for your animals. It's worth it."
"I don't know how to adequately express how grateful we are for the care this hospital provides. Our rescue quaker, Steve, has had some significant health issues since we adopted him earlier this year. Dr. Jones has gone above and beyond in trying to diagnose and treat him, and he's doing very well today because of her care and diligence. The techs and doctors are so sweet, and took extra time to love on Steve and give him snuggles while he was hospitalized. I have the utmost trust in and respect for every staff member at this hospital and cannot thank them enough. (Steve says thank you, too!)"
"Overall, I think this is a good hospital. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and truly love animals. I felt like my budgie was in good hands when I brought her in for check ups. However, my last visit still weighs heavily on me. I brought my budgie in earlier this year because she was showing some extremely concerning symptoms. The first thing the vet said when she walked in was "Wow she looks terrible". Obviously I knew that or I wouldn't have brought her in. The vet had some students come in the room with her. Normally, I'd be fine with this but I was very worried and knew my budgie wasn't going too good; this many people in the room was very stressful in an already stressful situation. The vet delivered some bad news and said my budgie was very sick and there's not much they could do. I was trying to keep it together with a bunch of students staring at me while holding my very sick bird. The vet sent me on my way and prescribed some expensive medications. My budgie passed away a few days later. Looking back on it, I think the vet should have been a bit more considerate after she delivered the news. I wish she had offered euthanasia as an option during that visit. The medications just seemed like a way to get money without doing much. This was my first pet and had I been offered euthanasia as an option, I would probably have taken it. It feels like my budgie suffered her last few days and the vet could have offered something to stop that, but didn't."
"My cockatiel was rushed to ER last night and then was transferred to Texas Avian this morning. Dr Jones went absolutely above and beyond trying to diagnose and treat my sweet bird. We called back and forth with estimates and options. When I arrived at the clinic she was extremely prompt and discussed our options openly. She has a heart for animals and a passion for her job. The staff was very professional and kind. I have several exotic pets and will definitely be using this clinic again."
"I can not say enough good things about our experience here. My husband and I took in a couple emergency fosters early this week. I tried another nearby exotic vet prior to coming here and was treated rudely and not given the time of day. When I called Texas Avian & Exotic Hospital, the receptionist was so sweet and understanding as I tried to explain the situation. They made time to see the sulcatas right away. I was impressed by how organized the whole process was. Right away, they emailed online forms and had an option to provide photos prior to the appointment which helped so much, given the amount of stress we were under. They assisted my husband with moving the tortoises from the truck to the exam room, the staff was very compassionate and communicated very well. The doctor was wonderful throughout all of it and made time to speak to all parties Involved. They made the whole process so smooth and left us feeling very reassured. I can not thank them enough for all they did!"
