"We absolutely LOVE bringing our Smokey here!! He's a very active, high-energy German Shepherd. We've brought Smokey here several times, and when we enter the parking lot, he gets very excited!! Frank is a GREAT representative of the resort, and his interaction with us and treatment of Smokey are above reproach...he truly cares and enjoys working with and caring for the furry, four-legged guests. Dog owners; you won't have to worry about your furbaby staying at the resort. He/she will be in GREAT and capable hands!!"
"If you are in South Padre and need a safe and responsible place to keep your fury babies/heathens, then CCCK has you covered. They offer reduced rates if you have two that don’t mind sharing their unit space. I have 2 frenchies and they are kennel trained so I’m sure they thought they had their own house!!! The units are the equivalent of 4 extra large kennel crates. They offer lots of services and accommodate special requests and can administrate any meds your pups might need. They also have a groomer that will shampoo, dry, and clip for a very reasonable fee. The facility is almost a half mile from any road, so I didn’t need to worry about anything if they were have gotten out for a short while. On that note, the facility is completely gated and fenced separately for playtime outdoors (weather permitting). Highly recommend!!"
"I cannot describe how appreciative I am of this place. They are the most caring and loving people around. They will greet your fur babies with open arms, treating them with so much love like their own child. Before I left for the airforce I had nobody to look after my girl Sophia Jane, until my coworker recommended them to me. I didn't want to give her away because what kind of owner would I have been? They took care of her for me and they gave me such an amazing price for it. 6.5 years later and I'm reunited with my child ready to to spoil her so much."
"Our pup Maizey was greeted by a young gentleman and brought out a beagle to see if Maizey was good for free play. They got along great. They did have some free play inside but due to weather they couldn't play outside. She seemed perfectly fine when we picked her up."
"What’s Good Enough for My Dog Is Good Enough for Me When I would travel on a writing assignment, I would usually leave my dog at Petsmart, because I liked the convenience of having his veterinarian right next door. Although their hotels were always tidy and their staff professional, at $35 a night in a metal crate, a larger, private room wasn’t always feasible. Plus, there was always something that made me uneasy when my dog would immediately start whining and pulling back as soon as we got into their reception lobby. I can’t pretend to know why, but every pet owner knows when their pet is unhappy. Not to mention, their play area at the San Antonio location is composed of a small 200 sq. ft. room with one glass-encased wall where other customers of the store can look into. Other dogs may be okay with this, but it always felt so confined seeing them pacing back and forth in such a small area, almost like they’re living in a fish bowl, and my dog, anxious to be in that space. Recently, I had to travel to South Texas, and their Petsmart stores don’t have any hotels. So, I looked around and found Canine Country Club in Los Fresnos. It was extremely convenient, considering it was literally along the way to my destination at South Padre Island. At first, upon arriving, it feels like you’re heading into a large, acre tract neighborhood, but that’s where their business is located, which is fine with me because it’s about a ½ mile away from a main busy Hwy, which I prefer. When we got there, we were immediately greeted by friendly staff. Without hesitation, Gabriel put my dog at ease, and he escorted him into his private room. I was impressed with the room rate at $18 a night. They have a large outside area and are taken out twice a day to play with the other dogs. He even sent me pictures of my dog playing outside and having the time of his life. I know it’s impossible, since they don’t have lips, but I could’ve sworn I saw him smiling. They were very accommodating, and Gabriel was very prompt with returning my texts. They also have very affordable grooming services to send them off nice and fresh after you pick them up. The most unusual thing about this experience was that when I arrived to pick him up, my dog actually whined as we were leaving, as if he was sad to be going. He had apparently found a friend there and got himself a little girlfriend with a gorgeous, little Dachshund red head. Don’t ask me why, but he has a thing for reds. I know that he had a positive experience overall, and if it’s good enough for my dog, it’s certainly good enough for me. This has definitely become our go to place to leave my dog every time we visit the valley, and I highly recommend it."
