"Not enough doctors. Stage 4 cancer patients waiting almost 2 hours after their appointment times. Told nurses and doctor of a biopsy that needed to be done on rib that another doctor discovered and it did not get done till 3 months later. Go to M.D. Anderson in Houston."
"Amazing staff all around."
"I was diagnosed in Tucson with stage 1 TN bc a week before we moved to New Mexico. I was scared about my diagnosis and unsure where to turn. I found Texas Tech Breast Clinic on-line on a fluke. It was a godsend. The staff: from the front desk to each technician, nurse and of course doctors have been reassuring, professional and competent to the utmost of human ability. You do need to have all your testing, dr notes and questions ready to go-but it is your health and you play a role too! I would recommend them to any woman navigating the harrowing path of breast cancer. Thank you Dr. Chambers, Dr. Castro Garcia and Dr. Gaur. Y’all are heroes!!!"
"Don't go! Although you will find dr. Chambers is really great, the oncologists are not as available nor communitive as they are very overworked, at least according to the oncologist that was assigned to me. It will take weeks to get your first appointment. It will take months to be assigned an onocologist. They do not return your calls and thr oncologist assigned to me seems more concerned with what was not his job then what was his job. Most importantly he wasn't concerned with anything other than my medical condition. In other words your emotional state and your need for empathy are completely lacking. They do not have a radiologist so you will not be getting radiation at the clinic or at UMC. You will have to go to another facility for that. The doctors are not a team. They are very much separate entities that do not meet and discuss the best treatments for their patients. I went in expecting a breast center to be a team of doctors and nurses that would meet and determine the best treatment for their patient. You will get more of that if you go to Texas Oncology or another set facility since all the doctors work in the same building and see each other daily and all our an onocologist. And if you try and get help with the doctor or staff member that you're having a problem with you will be told there is no patient advocate at Texas Tech to help you."
"I was being seen in the breast care clinic with Dr. Chambers who then referred me to Dr. Castro who both are in the same building. He had just provided me with a breast lift and reduction. He did a fantastic job! I was a 42 double ff and he reduced them to a 38 C! My back is no longer suffering in pain! My sciatic pain has eased and my lower back and hip pain are gone. My posture is improving more and more and I have Dr. Castro to thank! I've had back problems for 25 years and now I am relieved."
