Reviews of H-E-B Curbside Pickup & Grocery Delivery
"This is the most convenient invention since the car. I prefer produce shopping in person, but when you're in a rush, there is no better option."
"I like the layout in this store a lot -- it's easy to move around the various sections. It's kept well-stocked and they really seem to place a focus on keeping everything clean and orderly. Good parking with easy access on/off Slaughter. One of the better HEB's around the entire Austin area."
"HEB's team is super dedicated, and I think they are all bought in the mission that here everything has to be always better for Texans and to serve Texans no other less than serving for religious values. I always feel company with such values lasts for generations to arrive. Whenever I or my family visit this store in the escarpment village, we feel the smell of freshness everywhere and not just in the produce section or its aisle. The biggest asset of HEB is its people."
"This is a pretty good service for those who either have busy lives, or just dislike spending time in a grocery store. There is no charge for the service, but I find that on some items the price is slightly higher. On the other had, you can use a big collection of coupons if you wish and I often scan the weekly flyer too. For the most part they get the order right. But I have found an occausional missing item, or more rarely, an extra "free" item. One of these glitches seems to occur about once out of six orders. Still, a call to the store goes very quick and they always make whatever cost adjustment is needed (oh, and always call the store, not the curbside service center, for faster service) Most my weekly shopping orders will have a couple of out-of-stock items. If I have allowed it, a substitution of a like item will be attempted...if the substituted is a bit more costly, they'll only charge the price of your original item...which seems pretty fair to me. I'd say they have a bit of work to do on the app and/or website, and they have a few service nits to fix, but all and all I like Curbside. I guess I must since I continue to use the service at least weekly. Finally, I have not used curbside for premium cut of meats or fish, I'm picky about those items. Nor have I shopped for items at the sushi/sahmi bar for the same reason. On the other hand, my oldest son and daughter-in-law, with two demanding careers and two young children, have no such reservations, and generally use curbside for most their grocery shopping"
"As a busy mother, i love the concept of curbside pickup. I also love HEB, so I was excited when this opened up. Unfortunately, it was a massive fail. I placed my order online and arrived yesterday during my scheduled window. I waited for 25 minutes before a curbside worker came out to apologize and let me know that they hadn't even picked my order yet as they were short staffed (why didn't they notify me by text to let me know the order wasn't ready?). I agreed to come back today. When I arrived for the second time things seemed to be going more smoothly. They informed me of the couple specialty items they couldn't locate (no big deal), loaded my car and sent me on my way. When I got home, I discovered that half my order was completely missing. I had to call and run through the items that they forgot to bring out to my car and identified a couple items in the bags they forgot to bring out that hadn't been picked. So now I have to make yet a third trip back to the store. I'm willing to give this another try, but won't be attempting any time in the near future until they get these massive kinks worked out. I also haven't received any updated charge information reflecting the items that were removed. Will have to watch that closely to make sure I am not billed for items I never received."
