"Wait time was short and getting in was easy enough. I went in with my two primary concerns and was dismissed before the results of those two concerns were even final. I am a woman in my early twenties and I wish I would have brought someone with me just as backup. The doctor, Dr. Mak, pulled the classic must be your “period” & then proceeded to lecture me on the importance of a gynecologist despite everything in that area being normal and healthy. The staff then twisted my words and wrote notes that made me sound ignorant and naive. Moreover, the physical exam portion of the notes included false reports that stated they checked me or felt me when they did not. I was asked about my weight in which I told them I have lost weight and have a decreased appetite. More than once, I was asked if I was doing this on purpose when I made it clear that I was not and was worried about it. Nevertheless, it was brushed off. I have a large family history with what I’m going through and know that my concerns are justified and are relevant. I understand that you have to fight for your health these days, but I did not expect to be treated the way I was. I was not taken seriously and have never felt more dismissed to the point that I left my appointment bawling."
