"Giving them one star is honestly too much. I was going to be respectful and not share my experience but after hearing how a child was treated after I left made me realize that I wasn't doing my job as a mandated reporter. Let me begin with my experience as a parent here; my toddler would come home with unexplained marks and bruises on himself (this happened multiple times). My oldest was in their preschool program where the teacher resorted to yelling all day and expected kids to behave and listen by using that "strategy". There's transitional songs that can be used, games, different redirection techniques. Creating bonds with the kids builds respect but they didn't even do that. My kid would cry and run away almost everyday we had to go to school. He said he didn't like his teacher's and they were mean. Ever since he started his new daycare he's been thriving, he loves going to school, the teachers even potty trained him within two weeks (something I was asking the KinderCare teacher to help mhe with for months). When you call Jill(the director) to help with misbehaving children all she does is either put them in her office as a punishment or yells at them, this is not a good tactic to display for staff if you ask me. Now moving onto my employee experience.... I was promised growth and the ability to learn admin work (the director knew my dreams were too have my own daycare). I worked there for nine months and never got the training I was promised I never got opportunities to learn the admin work to become a director. I blamed myself for the longest but when I left KinderCare for another center to be a director I realized it wasn't me, it was all a game of favoritism. Jill would prefer to have her buddy (third in charge) up front to gossip with. My district leader is amazed with my abilities as an ECE employee, for once I feel appreciated. I'm also learning so much at the new center. Leaving KinderCare was the best thing I've done, both my children and I are thriving now. Be careful where you leave your children, check for staffing consistency, or if turnover is high. Don't be afraid to ask the daycare for parent references, thoroughly check reviews, ask questions and listen to your gut. Just cuz someone is NAEYC accredited doesn't immediately make them a good center. Stick around for a while, watch the action, make sure it's safe for your kids. But I can tell you this, don't trust this center, just don't. Leadership sits in the office all day, unaware of what's going on throughout the school. Classrooms have been out of ratio, the teachers don't even have the credentials to be lead teachers and yet they're put in that role without the education or experience. Just no quality here, I promise you. Worst center I've ever worked at."

She is excited every morning to go to school and we always feel the love and care from her teachers - they are WONDERFUL. Everyone at the kindercare is helpful, kind, compassionate and fun. I can't say enough about the staff and how meticulous they are in hygiene, safety, communication with parents, developing a relationship with my baby, and exposing my baby to different learning experiences. "We have both our children at this center and are very happy with our decision. The director, Jill, always keeps us informed of center changes. The teachers are welcoming and provide a structured environment for their students. There are 2 large play areas (tots and big kids) so the kids get plenty of outdoor time. As parents, we are always kept informed how our children are progressing and are given options for additional courses (music, phonics, etc) that can be offered as part of their education. We highly recommend Kindercare Glen Ellyn!"
