"Charlie has been fantastic to work with, she immediately made me feel at ease discussing serious topics, she gives me her full attention and she guides me to insights that have are improving my life every day. I'm looking forward to eventually doing EMDR with her."
"Charlie helped me when I was sure no kind or amount of therapy could. The process is logical and the progress is measurable."
"Charlie Young was my counselor at the rehab Recovery Unplugged a while back. I believe my experience there would’ve been so much more helpful if I were permitted to switch counselors. Granted, I was kind of a stuck-up little snot in many ways, not always easy to work with, but other of Charlie’s clients agreed with my assessment of her. I found her extremely condescending, at times downright insulting. One illustration: I often wore hats and bandannas to cover up my shaved head, as I’d recently begun balding and was very self-conscious about it. One day in group, in front of the entire process group, Charlie made a remark about my “bald-head covering.” She pretty clearly knew what she was doing. You could’ve just said “bandanna,” would’ve saved some time and deep embarrassment, but ok… She also bribed me to complete an assignment, which I had no problem doing in the first place, by saying she’d order me a book if I completed it. Pretty sure that, in itself, is ethically questionable. But then she reneged on the promise. What therapist in her right mind would go out of her way to needlessly sacrifice a client’s trust in her like that? Trust is the foundation of the therapeutic relationship, and here you are casually throwing it to the wind? All in all, I and many others felt she saw her clients as stupid children in need of controlling. Would absolutely avoid. I had no choice but to see her, and had to pay a ludicrous sum to see someone who, as has become clearer and clearer to me the more experience I have in therapy, really doesn’t know what she’s doing."
