Reviews of Capital Therapy Group
"We needed PT for our almost-one-year-old to address her asymmetrical crawling. I called close to 10 therapy centers and CTG was able to get my daughter in that same week for an evaluation thanks to their new Physical Therapist, Boston. He was awesome--knew exactly what to target and put a plan in place with a clear discharge goal. She met her goals and flew past all the milestones about which we were concerned. We are very familiar with many therapy centers in the Austin-area because of our children's needs and dealing with CTG was easy and stress-free. Thank you, Boston and CTG!"
"I had a hard time finding speech therapy for my son near my location and within my insurance until I found CTG. They were quick to get him in and evaluated, and appointments started the next week. He was only there for a short time before we moved states, but the skills they worked on with him have improved so much - and we haven’t been able to get an appointment in our new area yet! They gave us tools to work with him at home that were clear for us. They made him comfortable with the entire process, and my son went from saying a handful of words to stringing together multi-word sentences. Couldn’t recommend this practice more!"
"I bring my toddler here for Speech Therapy (with Nora) and Occupational Therapy (with Megan). Everyone in this office, from the front desk to the therapists, is super professional, flexible, kind and helpful. Not only do they address my child's needs and track his progression, but they educate me and provide the necessary tools to assist him at home. My child's speech and attention have truly improved, and he looks forward to his visits with Nora and Megan. I initially picked this place because it was closer to my home, but even if I moved out of the area, I'd continue taking him here. It's a great place with wonderful staff and a lovely Cafe nearby if you need caffeine."
"Capital Therapy has been an incredible experience for our family. The staff is always kind when I call in with a question or concern and the therapists literally make me cry because of the care and attention they have provided for my little ones. My boys will now walk up to them with smiles when it's time for therapy and that brings me joy. Thank you Kristin, Karla and Rebecca for all that you do!"
"My daughter attended therapy here a few years ago and I never left a review because I wanted to put this place behind us but as a mother of a special needs child I know I need to speak up and warn other special needs parents. My daughter is severely autistic and non verbal. When we first started here she had an amazing speech therapist and Occuptaional therapist. Both of which moved on to better opportunities for their skill sets. I always went back with my daughter during her sessions because I loved to see her growth and I’m very protective of my child. Rightfully so since one day her speech therapist was out sick and they offered to have another therapist step in for the session. I agreed because they all knew I would be going back with my daughter. Right away I could tell this therapist was uncomfortable with my presence. We get to the room and my daughter being only 3 and autistic she loved to go for the bucket of toys. The therapist grabs the bucket from her and instead of opening it she tells my daughter to sit and she’ll open the box. Now my daughters upset because she doesn’t understand, instead of assessing the situation and realizing that asking my autistic child to do things that she does not understand IS NOT working and only making things worse. The therapist proceeds to sign “NO” in an angry tone in my daughters face as tears are falling and a meltdown is occurring. I had enough and told the woman to stop! I asked her “do you have any personal experience with autistic children at all?” She was clearly offended but I didn’t care. Me and my daughter were going to get through her session with or without this therapists “help”. So I proceeded to show this therapist what her regular therapist does through the session and everything went great for my daughter while the therapist stood around on her phone occasionally looking up very much aggravated and embarrassed. After that session we never saw anyone but my daughters main therapists again! I told my daughters main therapist what had happened and she told me she had already heard and she apologized for the incident even though she didn’t have to, but she really cared. I know the manager knew about the incident because all the women in there gossip amongst each other so she had to have known, but not once did she ever come and speak to me or ask what happened. She simply did not care. From that moment on every time that therapist saw me in the halls she would either walk the other way or give me an ugly look because she had to walk past me. It was completely unprofessional and I only put up with it for the amazing therapists my daughter did have! After a while I trusted her therapists to leave them alone with my child but after they both moved on I took my daughter out of there and we moved on to a better fitting place for the both of us. Always get to know your child’s therapist, teachers, etc. because not everyone is deserving of your trust. Especially with your child."
