Reviews of United States Postal Service
"Opened a PO box in August 2023. Never received any mail afterwards! It is now March 2024 and the only mail I get is stuff I order online. I complained time and again "where's my mail?" They claim it's a "new system." Seven months! Wow. That's some system! I moved to Big Spring 10 years ago and tbh, have always had problems getting mail with this post office. This is not my first PO Box. Same troubles before too. Why pay for a PO Box when you don't get your mail? It's just really disfunctional. Sorry guys but it has to be said. The people at the counter are nice though."
"I tried to get help from the local PO to track down why my 4yr old grandson's birthday gift could not be delivered. They don't answer the phone, they don't deliver the mail, they make excuses and then don't respond or update the status of the delivery. I partially fault Amazon for using such a poor delivery service in the last leg of a delivery, and have complained to them as well. If the USPS was run as a real business, they would be out of business. There is not much I can do to alleviate the issue as I live 7 hrs away, otherwise, I would go to the PO and get the package and hand-deliver it myself."
"I’m starting to think this is becoming a nation wide problem but this branch is still very frustrating. I’m sure your workers and delivery people are very nice and decent humans but I still would like to get my mail, preferable on time but I’d also be glad to just receive it…. Ya’ll don’t care about anything and seems like your Rural route people don’t even try to deliver packages anymore. Update: Zero stars. Yet another run in, they didn’t deliver a package because “Weather” so I rescheduled delivery for the next day, got confirmation and everything seemed fine, then an hour or so later got a notification that individual picked up at post office. Which is physically impossible for anyone in my household. Spent the next few hours arguing with automated phone messages and finally spoke to a person who “submitted a form” and said they’d get back to me in two to 5 business days. I’ve emailed been on the app and been on the phone, but with little to no help. Makes me cringe for everyone's christmas deliveries, good luck ya’ll. Makes me mad everything can’t just be UPS or FedEx."
"I ordered a small part to be delivered to my home. The package left Lubbock TX (2hrs away) at around 5am, and was promised for delivery THAT DAY by 9pm - never showed up. A tracking text indicated it was left in Midland, TX (45 minutes away) at 9:22pm. A subsequent text msg said it would be delivered THE NEXT DAY by 5:10pm - never showed up. Instead, it was left at the Big Spring PO (5 min away), and an automated text said it was 'ready for pickup' at the PO in Big Spring. I'm still trying to determine if this is Big Spring, TX incompetence, or the USPS as a whole...wow!"
"The USPS Big Spring refuses to honor US Postal Service money orders unless they sell enough stamps, mail supplies and greeting cards! Unbelievable - they are running a Ponzi scam. I went in to cash two money orders that I received and was told "We don't have the money on hand." I asked to speak to a Supervisor and was told that the Supervisor was running a mail delivery route but would be back at 12 noon. I was told I could wait. Inconvenient YES - But much better than never. I was also told to go to Wells Fargo across the street to cash them. I don't ever intend to bank with Wells Fargo again (credit card scandal)... After awhile waiting - a second employee (not the promised manager) told me that I should try again late in the day on week days because they only will cash money orders based on what they sell in the lobby. I asked - how much do you typically sell? His reply "I don't know". I asked him - then how will I know when you will be able to cash the money order? He said "You're creating an uncomfortable condition - so leave the post office." I hadn't raised my voice - I just asked questions that he could not answer. He called the police on me. I have done nothing wrong except to ask the post office to fulfill their obligation to the financial note (money order) that THEY issued! I will be filing charges with the Postmaster General."
