"Class of 99’ HCHS. Every classmate I met from here was either an abuser or abused. I am now a foster mother and the children I’ve met that “made it out” from here are emotional refugees. Some of these children have their own issues. But the majority of them have parents and caregivers with issues. They deserve far more love, tolerance, appreciation, discipline, and consistency than they’ve ever gotten. These aren’t bad kids. It’s just not a good system. I’ve heard there are really caring people that work there. Unfortunately that’s just not the norm. It’s far too easy for the young people to be extremely bullied by their peers and the staff is far too complacent."

"Absolutely horrible! Never send your child there. They use restraints. And throw the kids on the ground. My daughter has marks on her body she has tried to commit suicide numerous times and they refused to take her to the hospital. They won’t release your child. They give bad reports to keep your child. It’s just a money maker. That place is a hole in the wall. They call them cottages. But look like old run down buildings. Words can’t express how horrible that place is. Please never send your child."

"Keep this place in your prayers!!! That's all I will say without saying too much. However, there are some great staff there and some really good kids. The children just need more structure. The facility could use an upgrade, more staff and higher wages to deal with some of the complicated behaviors. My opinion!"

"Okay first of all, I was at Marygrove for 8 months when I was 8 or 9. I was apparently there because according to my mother my "behavior was horrible" but thats not really why I was in there. It's because my mother didn't want to me. Even though she's the one who decided to adopt me. But thats not why I'm deciding to write this review and give it 2 stars. The reason I'm doing this is because most of the staff and other kids in the place were extremely rude to me I'm not going to name those people. Now the two people I did truly like and trust were one of the staff named Mrs. Rosey and I'm pretty sure the other person at the time was the boss of the place but I don't know for sure I kind of forgot her name. I felt extremely hated by the other kids and staff, because I think cried to much. But what do you expect from a 8 year old girl? Who was literally so scared and didn't know what to do? I seriously hope Marygrove changes or has changed since I've been there."
