Reviews of Cornerstone Counseling Center
"I had the most horrifying experience with Cynthia Lindgren. My goal with this post is to hopefully keep others from having a similar experience. She checked all the boxes during the screening process and we were excited about using her for my 15 year old daughter. The only communication I had with her was during the interview session and email even though I asked for an in person visit. This request was ignored. I let her know all of our background information and everything going on with my daughter and she either didn’t listen to what I had to say or didn’t believe me or a combination of the two. I rarely got any response from her to my emails. She didn’t provide updates as promised or answer my questions. What’s even worse and to top all of this off, is that she decided to call CPS on me because I told her I needed to pause counseling due to financial difficulties. The report she made said it was medical neglect and that I was refusing to pay for counseling and my daughter’s medication. Medication never even came up in any of our conversations and was never apart of my plan. The report which was read to us by CPS was 100% made up lies! She said horrible things about me in the report and it was shocking to hear the “opinions” she formed about me in such a short period of time especially since there was no factual basis for any of it. She even told them she believed I was changing insurance companies just to harm my child. I changed insurance companies because it was going to save money!!! Since when does switching insurance companies hurt anyone? The fact that she really believes I’m out to harm my child is pretty alarming also. I find it pretty ironic that everything she says she specializes in showed the exact opposite during my short relationship with her. She’s a “trauma” and “family” therapist and has caused myself and my family significant trauma and now I’m even more concerned about my child’s mental health and wellbeing after her being involved. I actually need therapy after having to deal with her but how do I know who I can even trust now after this experience? By the way, the case has been closed since I am NOT abusive and CPS recommended that I report Cynthia to the board which I’ve done. CPS told me that this was not a CPS case at all!!! I’m not sure what Cynthia’s issue is but she does not need to be in the mental health industry!"
"Danny Hartt: Marvelous. Five stars because we're all in the same marriage. -- I’m truly fond of Danny, I think he knows his business, knows what he’s doing and if you walk in the door needing a certain kind of help and you trust the process he can provide it to you probably - all things being equal. The onus is on you, however, and always has been and will continue to be which is the problem with the service at large. You can walk in the door having fussed with some generally innocuous fussier husband and receive some advice as to how it is you are to deal with that situation and walk away sated because your problems aren’t much you’ll find and tolerable or you can walk in having fought with a husband who is an actual and truly manipulative psychopath (possibly we’ll never know based on his complete lack of participation and you wouldn't recognize it if he did because it is in their nature to obscure it) and your track will remain the same and no one between here and there whether or not they take you at your word, which they purport to do, will have anything real to offer except that you have failed to acquiesce enough and maybe you should clean harder after he demands it because after all you're baptist and female and his background is such that that’s just the way men of his ilk are and - well, you married him and he needs his afternoon tea that you should be making and let us know what you decide to do if anything because nothing you are saying could in any way be valid or true. And please be aware secondarily that once you cross this line into believing that there is some kind of help out there (there isn’t), tagging yourself with the stigma of incapable moron who can’t handle her own psychopath without a welling anger that must at all costs be quashed in all venues, all avenues of participation and of friendship in professional or interesting circles will be closed to you individually, because the people you would have known in a better life will necessarily be required to draw the line, squeezing you out like the thorn that you are and embracing all of husband's opinions about you based on your angry reactions because kicking at the quicksand you should know only sinks you deeper into the ground. – I cannot on this basis at all or ever recommend this counseling then as a course of action. So, as a non-credentialed un-medical layperson who carries no professional weight and should never be heard, I personally recommend that you simply swallow your feelings and get on with your day unless you're otherwise just looking to pay a stranger to listen. Good luck and God Bless."
"I had a great experience visiting Cornerstone. Compared to previous counseling I had with other counselors, I got a lot more out of the whole experience. From improving the relationships with my family, to creating more healthy habits. I would recommend at least trying cornerstone for anyone struggling with mental health."
"I guess I should have read the reviews before coming here. Iam not even sure how they have 4 stars with the majority of the reviews say negative about this place. I too recently had a horrible experience, would never recommend Cindy to anyone. Did absolutely no good, The sessions only consisted of random conversations and never helped get a resolution. Was supposed to do some MDR session which was never performed, just kept saying she believed it would help and never did it.. I can't speak about the other counselors but I definitely wouldn't use Cindy."
"We have always had a good experience with CCC. My son saw counselor Mrs. Peggy for a while. She helped him develop strategies and tools for dealing with his emotional outbursts. We will always be grateful for her attention to him. My husband and I have been in individually and as a couple to see counselor Danny Hart. He has always been very attentive and able to offer us suggestions for better communication within our marriage. We came to him at a time of particularly deep hurt and he was able to guide us to the path of forgiveness and healing. If you are looking for counselors with a Christian worldview I would definitely recommend CCC."
