Reviews of North Park Cooperative Preschool
"My child has always been sensitive, reserved, and anxious. While we had positive experiences at CPS's PreK3 program and Kiddie College through the park district, NPCCP has really allowed my child to grow socially, emotionally, and academically. Ms. Lyndsey and Ms. Jen are incredibly caring and nurturing - they make each child feel safe and loved. Having volunteered in the classroom, I'm so impressed with their ability to connect with each child and notice every little interaction. They step in to mediate potential conflicts while also giving the children space to interact respectfully. The kids are all so kind to each other, which is a clear reflection of what they see modeled on a daily basis from their teachers. When my daughter is at NPCCP, I never worry for a moment about her well-being. I know she feels welcomed and comfortable every day at her preschool because the teachers meet every kid where they're at. For the first time, I'm not as nervous about her entering kindergarten due to the support she's received at NPCCP. Some practical things I love: A snack is provided every day, the bathroom has a kid-sized toilet, it's easy to drop kid off late/pick up early, you can easily chat with the teachers if you need to, and I'm sure a zillion other things I can't think of at the moment."
"The thought of finding a preschool for our daughter was so stressful and after touring a few places we knew the instant we walked into NPCCP that it was the right place. The teachers are so wonderful with the kids, the space is bright and welcoming, the families are all so kind, and my daughter absolutely loves going to school there. It's a great balance of playing, creating, and learning in a safe space that nurtures kids for the individuals that they are. My daughter is my whole world and I know she is in great hands at NPCCP."
"Our son has attended NPCCP for about 6 months now, and it's been a wonderful experience for our family. The teachers are kind, nurturing, and creative. The transition was very seamless for our son who had never attended a drop-off program before. He loves his teachers, loves school, and has grown a great deal since he began. And, the community of families that attend is lovely."
"My daughter has attended NPCCP for the past two years and she's had a wonderful experience. They really do run the school cooperatively, and I love when I get to volunteer in the classroom and see my kid in her element. There are all sorts of holiday parties that caregivers are invited to attend, and the teachers take photos throughout the day so we can share in the memories. It's clear that Ms. Lyndsey and Ms. Jen love their jobs because they treat the kids with a great deal of care, kindness, and good humor. There's a big outdoor play area (and an indoor gym for bad weather) where the kids can run around, and the classroom is really intentionally assembled with lots of sunlight, plants, crafts, toys, books, and kid-sized furniture. They even have child-size bathrooms, which is a small but meaningful detail for newly potty-trained kids. I highly recommend this small but mighty school!"
"We have had two kids go through the North Park Church Cooperative Preschool and cannot recommend it enough! The teachers are outstanding and we have loved the play-based curriculum and the small, cooperative community of families. The school meets in a church but is non-religious in outlook. It has an amazing classroom space with many high-quality, open-ended toys (think wooden blocks, play kitchen supplies, etc.). There is access to an enclosed outdoor space with a small playground and a large indoor gym when the weather prevents outdoor play. But by far the biggest asset of this school are the wonderful teachers - Miss Lyndsey and Miss Jen have made our experience with the preschool absolutely wonderful - highly recommend!"
