Reviews of Dr. Harry F. Klinefelter, III, PhD
"Excellent Doctor that has assisted me and continues to assist and support me. I been going here for about 3 years and I would never go to anyone else! He truly cares for his clients and the issues we experience and need help with. I do not know where I would be with our him while serving. I highly recommend him to everyone!"
"Dr. Kleinfelter has been an outstanding help for. He understands what I am or am trying to say. I've been to several therapists and they make the same claims. If I do as they say, they will cure me. Dr. Kleinfelter puts the responsibility where it belongs, on me."
"In my over 20 plus years of experience with counseling, Dr. Klinefelter has been the best therapist I've ever had. He keeps two little dogs at the office, and takes most insurance place. Except Medicare/Medicaid, which he has applied for but not, as of yet, qualified. He was the first therapist that I was able to, completely, open up to and discuss my darkest memories with. I have found that with behavioral psychotherapy, being completely open and vulnerable during your sessions is the key to having it work for you. If you are unable to do that, you can spend years with a counselor and get nowhere. Half of the work needed to reach that point is on you, but the other half is because of the therapist. For me, Dr. Klinefelter was the right person. Something about him helped me to feel safe enough to bring up my experiences that I most needed tell somebody about. Other counselors never gave me that same feeling. He asked me why I felt safe enough to tell him, once, and to be honest I wasn't sure. It did take over a year of therapy with him before I felt safe, but eventually I did. He even said that a lot of other counselors can be very judgmental, and that's likely why I wasn't able to talk to them about the things I most needed to discuss. He does have flaws, after all he is human. Sometimes his attention wanders, and I've never seen him take notes during a session. I believe that he writes them after your counseling session has finished. So often he may forget some things, and I'll need to go over them again the next time I speak with him. You can argue that it is not necessarily a bad thing that he isn't taking notes during the time you speak with him. Instead, he looks you in the eyes. Which may help you to feel that you have his attention, save are really being heard. If eye contact is uncomfortable for you, that's fine! He keeps two adorable, sweet little dogs at his office! I've yet to lure one of them into my lap, but I do love dogs. When I felt uncomfortable looking at the doctor, the pups were always there for me. So, I highly recommend him, and suggest anybody that is looking for a therapist give him a shot. He takes most insurance and and has applied for Medicare/Medicaid, but has not, as of this time, been approved. He is an older man, so I do not know how much longer he will practice behavioral therapy. I will miss him when that day comes, though. He has been a light for me that I was missing for so many years."
"Though I've had several psychologists before Dr. Klinefelter, I believe he is the first to actually listen and understand how I arrived at my conclusions. He is very knowledgeable and uses a little whiteboard to draw out the definitions of various psychological theories and definitions (i.e. affect theory). I definitely recommend him to my peers and anyone who desires a true psychologist."
"Harry is a great person to come to with anything , he's great at his work; from being a therapist in counseling with marriage, children, and etc . He has two empath doggy companions that support you just as well as he does , he spends many hours on making sure his patients know they have a listening ear . Amazing guy"
