Reviews of Center for Counseling and Family Relationships
"would highly recommend you go anywhere else. after spending nearly 30 mins on the phone to schedule and giving all of my insurance and EAP information, i was sent more wavers to sign than when i went sky diving. their policies are incredibly strict and it seems no grace is given for hurting people who are seeking help. i was looking forward to my appointment (that i took the day off of work for) but upon arrival was notified that the therapist i was booked with doesn’t actually accept my EAP. incredibly unprofessional to book me with someone who doesn’t offer what i need. if you do decide to go, it’s good to know their office unit 307, upstairs and to the left. i’d be nice of them to share that information along side their 30+ wavers to sign…"
"I’ve been coming here and seeing Shirley Moxley now for a few months and it’s been life changing for me! It’s so wonderful when you find the right counselor for you! Makes all the difference. I’ve had nothing but great experiences here. I completely understand their policies and they’ve always communicated very well."
"The counselors me and my child saw were great. The policies regarding missed appointments are understandable, however, I showed up to my last appointment with my three year old and was TURNED AWAY. I then got billed their $100 no-show fee, which I then disputed after speaking to the manager and receiving no favorable resolution. A week later, I took my child to her appointment and was told if I didn’t repay the $100 fee, that my child couldn’t see her therapist for the last time ever, since we were moving out of state two days later. WARNING: if you don’t get to attend an appointment, even if you are TURNED AWAY and showed up in good faith, they will bill you for $100. I suspect if you have a car accident or have a heart attack and can’t attend, they will still charge you $100. And if they arbitrarily decide you simply can’t attend the appointment you’ve showed up for , Yep, still got to foot the $100 fee. So much for serving the community’s mental health needs. Client beware."
"I've been going to this location for a year now and seeing Cristina Alvarez. I've had nothing but positive experiences. Their policies and expectations are upfront and reasonable. Anytime I've had an issue with billing or potentially missing an appointment they've always been very communicative and helpful and are consistent with the policies you agree to when starting therapy. Especially in the time of COVID19 they've done amazing work to adapt, very quickly, to do Remote sessions and keep everyone as safe as possible. All the staff show the same level of care, respect, and accountability that You show them. Would, and have, recommend them for anyone trying to make a positive difference in their lives."
"I use to think that this place was wonderful and caring...that was blown up in our faces on our last visit. I took my 5 year old in who was very excited to see his therapist. Unfortunately, my Visa had expired and I didn't realize it. The receptionist swears that she wasn't rude but was in fact rude. I got a bill for no show which was not the case. My son broke down crying because he could not see her. I went back in and asked if he could at least speak to her...she sighed and said well that isn't typical as you look at my child full of frustration. I typically would have had another card but I was waiting for my other bank card to come in the mail because the chip was one again destroyed. It appears to me, they aren't really in business to help kids but collect the money...in my opinion the receptionist was horrible and set my son back instead of helping him grow. Shameful."
