Reviews of Don's Downtown Ink
"I got my nipples repierced and it was the easiest experience of my life!! The piercer is reassuring and down to listen to yapping/answer any questions you have. Don’t forget to take deep breaths. The piercing experience was fast and easy. I skipped out of the door afterward. The prices are classy as heck. Highly rec Don’s for any piercing needs you have"
"Awesome clean place! Amazing tattoo! Thank you for making me feel so comfortable !"
"PLEASE READ BEFORE GETTING A PIERCING HERE! I would strongly recommend against getting piercings done at this shop. To be fair, it is mainly a tattoo shop so maybe that was on me for going here to get my ears pierced. Let me tell you about my experience. I initially came here because they had a great deal on pricing. I received four piercings, two lobes, a rook, and a helix. I had never had cartilage piercings before and I’m no expert on any of this stuff. The piercer said they didn’t have studs in stock and asked if a hoop would be okay. I didn’t know any better - I asked him if the healing would be fine with a hoop, and he said yes so I agreed. Mistake #1. My lobes were pierced with very thin rings, which I later learned it not the standard for first time piercings. My helix was pierced with a horseshoe ring. Look it up. That type of ring should NOT be going into a helix. Two days later after reading up that this could seriously ruin my ear, I had to pay more at a different shop to get them all switched out. Switching piercings two days after slows down the healing process by a good amount. On top of these mishaps, my helix and my lines were not pierced perpendicular to my ear tissue. So they are all slanted, my helix more so because on top of being at tilted, it was pierced in a way that it constantly hits my neck at the back, making it constantly painful. I couldn’t get it downsized until recently because of swelling. I have glasses and I told the piercer to take that into consideration. He did not take it into consideration because my glasses hit the piercing because it was placed too high up. Yes, they do show you where the dot is before piercing but the onus of a proper healthy piercing should not and cannot be on the customer, who is going there for YOUR expertise. I know this is an issue with this piercer because I have a helix on my other ear, pierced at a different shop, and the lady who pierced it made sure to do it in a way that my glasses wouldn’t hit it. Overall, do not go to this shop for piercings. Don’t be cheap like me. Pay the general $50-60 at a reputable shop and have peace of mind knowing that you don’t have to worry about issues coming up for months and months after. I wish I could go back in time and tell myself to just cough up the cash to go to a proper studio. But oh well."
"Our daughters had recently gotten piercings here and been very happy. I got my first tattoo (at 50) here today, after prodding from my kids. Zach worked with me and was extremely talented, patient, and intelligent. Excellent! I could not be happier...wonderful place!"
"Honest review, they do great work. We’ve only gotten piercings here, both healed fine and are still great. However, they have zero customer service skills. They are very rude and overall impolite, as if you’re bothering them. So if you’re looking for someone to be nice while they make holes in your body or for someone to be polite about questions you ask, go somewhere else. If you don’t care about customer service just getting the job done, go here."
