"Email sent to Home Depot HQ 7/30/19 follows - pray that Linn Star is not the company who will be given the delivery job for your HD appliances. Boerne residents beware! I am convinced Home Depot could care less about problems either with what they sell and even more so with the people they contract with to deliver Major Appliances. Linn Star Transfer - Corp. HQ - Cedar Rapids Iowa Check out their Google Review for the branch in San Antonio Tx. Presently 34 reviews and most are 1 Star. I got to deal with one of their crews today. Received delivery today, 7/30/19 for 3 items purchased earlier - see top of this document for order #. Oven Microwave to be installed by someone else other than Linn Star Transfer. Thank God I didn't hire them to do this. Let's look at the other 2 items I hired them to install. A. Gas Range - Linn Star delivery person says the 4 ft. gas hose is too short. Really? It's less than 4 ft. from the connection on back of stove to the gas connection in an adjacent cabinet? This Linn Star employee tells me I will need a 6 ft. hose. He also says they cannot hook up the 6 ft. hose. Wife and I later pulled the stove out after they left and measured. I am told I need a plumber for the "6 ft. hose". So my new stove sits in the garage boxed up. I called 3 local major plumbing supply companies in San Antonio - companies who have been selling plumbing supplies for many yrs. and am told there is no 6 ft. gas hose. I measured just shy of 4 ft. from range connection to my home gas connection? I spent a lot of time looking for something that does not exist and that I do not need. Why couldn't the Linn Star employee just leave tell me they were not qualified to connect to the style of gas connection I have? I would not have wasted all afternoon looking for something that does not exist. Let me make a suggestion Home Depot. Before you accept a gas range order, first determine if the customers gas connection is one these delivery contractors you use are able to work with! B. Dish Washer - after Linn Star left - my wife discovered 2 sharp L-shaped brackets protruding out from the top of the dishwasher. These are sharp. People will cut themselves eventually. Why did the installer leave it like this? Photo attached. It's not too hard to wonder why after reading all of the bad reviews for the San Antonio Linn Star operation. I called their SA # and was given an HD complaint phone #. The HD employee setup rework for Tue. 8/6/19 one week from today. I do hope the 2 people Linn Star sent today DO NOT come to my home next Tue. 8/6/19. On 7/7/19, I made my last Home Depot Major Appliance purchase. Never again will I deal with Home Depot, a situation equally shared by HD and their delivery contractor Linn Star Transfer."
"My experience was excellent with Linn star, the two gentlemen were very courteous and patient by taking the time to fix mistakes made by the Home Depot salesman. These men are independent contractors they did not have to stay on the phone ordering my new washer but they were more than happy to help and I’m extremely grateful because calling Home Depot to help got me no where. I strongly recommend requesting delivery from a younger gentleman named Mike he was very helpful!"
"Linn Star canceled my delivery the day of within 1 hour of delivery time. We rescheduled then they changed the rescheduled date without my knowledge. They said i agreed to the new date but I never talked to them and I was out of town on the supposedly agreed upon date. Then told me I had call to reschedule again after waiting online 3 hours. When they finally showed up, after missing two separate days of work the guy kept telling about single women in San Antonio being killed in their homes. I was legitimately scared for my safety. Tore dryer vent. First said it wasn't torn and just bent it back. Then said he would put silver tape on it so air wouldn't come out. Went to go look for tape but didn't have any. Continued with install and didn't bring out up again. When I mentioned it right before they were leaving, he turned the dryer on and said that no air was coming out, but when I offered my own paper tape he took it and put it on. It lasted 15 minutes. Didn't have proper tools or supplies. Home depot bent over backwards to make up for their shortcomings but I had to drive back and forth to home depot 8 times to try and fix problem myself before HD agreed to pay someone else to fix it. The unfortunate part is you don't know you're getting this sorry company because they are contracted. We don't have a choice. Home Depot, dump them fast before you ruin your own reputation!!! Reading other's reviews though, it may too late!"
"I can't believe a company like Home Depot would use them to deliver your appliances. Installed my microwave crooked, damaged my dishwasher and had to wait for Home Depot to finally get on em before I got a new one. Can't even hook up the water line to the refrigerator correctly! Definitely a dump and run operation. Once they leave the appliance at your place then your on yory own. Home Depot you should be ashamed of yourself."
"I read the other reviews before it was to late. I purchased stove and dishwasher for a rental unit with specific instructions for it to be delivered to second floor and haul away old appliances. I received computer cal the day before informing me I be first or second delivery-no reschedule. The next morning I was up at 6:45 and made coffee, reading paper. Upstairs at 7 and noticed I missed call at 6:50am --no message. I thought that was strange so I called number back with no answer. Assumed it was wrong number. Taking kids to school and I get call at 7:50 informing me they left units with a stranger at complex (they only need adult). They did not check units for damage. They did not deliver to second floor as contracted. They did not haul away old units as they were paid to do. When I finally got manager on phone John Stiver he gave me a bunch of BS regarding DOT rules that would not allow them to have assistant in passenger seat answer a phone call. They could not come back to finish job till next week. They are amazingly fast. In 11 min according to their records, they arrived at a large complex, located a main. man, determined that the second floor unit was locked and that no key was available in the office, found a spot somewhere to put units, pull the units off the truck, wheel them into a storage closet and got on the road. All in 11 min. They are the Carl Lewis of delivery people. They could do all this, but not have returned my phone call, which would have eliminated all the problems. IT IS DUMP AND RUN OUTFIT. Once they DUMP, then the BS starts. Fortunately Home Depot store managers stepped up to plate and came and fixed the delivery issue. Linn Star is totally incompetent. Best of luck."
