"Made an appt to see Karen & after she told me all about herself for 35 minutes, I was finally able to tell her the reason I was there. Just as I’m about to tell her the most traumatic part of why I was there, she tells me we have 15 minutes left. Then at the end, she tells me she is not the right therapist for me & she would send me some recommendations. I’ve yet to hear from her & never received any recommendations. I left there feeling WORSE than when I came in. She could clearly see how upset I was talking about this issue & it was a total kick in the gut to reach out for help & get denied. I understand if she thinks she’s not the right therapist for me, but to see someone with a diagnosed history of mental illness, breaking down with extreme anxiety & grief, should have sent her into overdrive to recommend someone or somewhere I could go to get help. I have TWO forms of insurance & told her I could private pay as well. Never heard a word back from anyone. Their office is in the back of a church & she mentioned she was a Christian. I told her I was not religious at all & felt as though she made the decision right about then that she wasn’t the therapist for me. I felt like because she couldn’t push her Bible beliefs onto me, she automatically dismissed me as a person who was reaching out for help. Typical for most religious groups. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. She should be ashamed of herself for seeing someone desperate for help & then not following up to help me. I’m sure she’s already followed up with my insurance company to get paid."
"Karen is very caring and truly wants what is best for her clients. She is very knowledgeable about trauma and has helped me a lot."
