Reviews of Jackson Movers
"We certainly had some frustrations with Jackson Movers as far as communication went with the central office, and it was a stressful challenge several times to sort out contract differences between the moving broker that we signed our quote with and Jackson, leading to several rounds of negotiation after they already had picked up our belongings. We also saw a number of horror stories on BBB about Jackson’s customer service and the timeline it took some people to get their belongings delivered. That being said, we had a great experience with the foremen and crews handling our stuff—both at pickup and delivery. In Dallas, David, Damon, Mike, and Milton were kind, careful, fast, and flexible with us, and they’re the main reason we’re giving Jackson Movers this many stars. And to give them credit, we requested a delivery date, and they fulfilled our request—finishing the move-in before lunchtime! Bottom line: Not thrilled with the communication along the way, or the cost negotiation with the main office, but as far as we can tell, nothing is missing, everything is in good shape, and it came when we asked. At the end of the day, Jackson Movers gave us a successful move."
"This was the worst moving experience I’ve ever had and I tried to do my due diligence. I used a broker that gave me a low quote, which seems normal. But I wasn’t worried about the money, I’d planned for that amount. I also looked up Jackson Movers reviews…. My mistake was not noticing the address, I pulled up reviews for Jackson Movers Phoenix, where I moved to, not Jackson Movers, San Antonio, where I moved from, I was actually in Dallas. Anyways, the physical movers that I saw in my home were kind, respectful, and seemed to take care of my stuff. Whatever happened between Dallas and Phoenix was the problem. Maple of my boxes were literally open, my dads were dinged, my dresser was broken, my bed was dinged, my step stool was broken, my coffee table is missing some screws, and I noticed a few days after I took my pictures my tv was cracked (I didn’t open it immediately because I was waiting for a brand new tv stand to come in and didn’t want to accidentally damage it while it was on the floor). Anyways, I called them, got an answering service and a promise for them to call me back, I’m still waiting on that call. Do not work with these people!!"
"Jackson Movers extensively damaged several expensive pieces of furniture and my new refrigerator. They also lost the box springs to my queen bed. To date, they have only offered me only $124 as compensation. BEWARE - there are so many issues with this Company, it is hard to list them all. Here are some of the major problems that I experienced: (i) long delivery delays, (ii) subcontracting of delivery to an independent trucker who hired unqualified people off Craig's List to unload and move my furniture into my house - they caused extensive damage to walls and floors, (iii) Jackson Mover's Bill of Lading limits its liability to $0.60 per lb for each piece of furniture - I was not even offered that much, (iv) in order to submit a claim for damages, you have to produce all types of documents (including receipts for each piece of damaged furniture - even if you purchased the piece years ago) and pictures of the damages taken at time of delivery, (v) you cannot have the damaged furniture repaired until after your claim is settled, which can takes months, (vi) you cannot withhold money for damages at time of delivery, as you have to pay CASH or Post Office BONDS at time of delivery BEFORE they will take your stuff off the truck - no inspection for damages is allowed before such payment, and (v) the contract is very one-sided - very unfair to the consumer - read it carefully before you hire them!! Unfortunately, I hired Amerisafe Movers (which I thought was a national moving company - found out later it is only a broker). Amerisafe hired Jackson Movers on my behalf without consulting with me first or giving me other options. The Closing on my house was in 2 weeks - so, I did not have much time and relied too much on Amerisafe - a very bad decision on my part. As a result, I did not see the final Bill of Lading until AFTER Jackson Movers had loaded my furniture on the truck (which took them several hours) at pick-up AND then their foreman only showed me the pages with the signature lines on a IPad for me to sign. By that time, it was getting very late and I had a 6 hour drive ahead of me - so, I felt that I had no choice but to sign it. Had I seen the final contract ahead of time and had more time to find another mover, I would not have gone forward with Jackson Movers - you should check out all the claims against them on the BBB website!! I strongly encourage you to find a better moving company than Jackson Movers - I will never use them again!!! Also, it would not be a bad idea to purchase insurance from a third party before your move. Had I known about that option ahead of time, I would have purchased it!!"
"They are the worst moving company we have ever employed. Close to $10,000 worth of furniture was damaged, and a claims process almost makes it impossible to receive compensation. We spent between $5-6000 on this move because we were told by Trinity Relocation Group this company was very professional. Trinity Relocation Group was the broker that highly recommended this group. Trinity did not care a single bit about our move once they got their money and lied in the process, telling us all our furniture could be moved but when the movers arrived, they said we would have to pay more and still need to find a way to move the rest. So, we paid Jackson movers more to make sure all the large furniture was moved. We then rented a storage unit and U-Haul to move the rest by myself. When we received the furniture, our brand-new leather couch had blue and black spots. The blue towels they wrapped the furniture in must have been damp and, in the heat, transferred their color to the furniture. They also wrapped a doggie bed in one of the pieces. I cannot understand that at all. The black from the bottom of the bed left little black dots all over the touched parts. An expensive buffet also has pieces broken off it. There were six or seven damaged pieces, and when we told the movers about it, they said all you could do was submit a claim. They did not offer us to write anything on the paperwork. I have had better luck hiring movers through U-Haul than with this company. We constantly get the runaround when trying to resolve this, and we keep getting asked to give a review for Jackson Movers. Well, here it is, a month since the move and I still have heard nothing on the resolution, which, like I said, was almost impossible to do. I had to purchase Adobe PDF to create the documents how they wanted them. If it is not done precisely as Jackson Movers asks, they say the claim cannot be processed. Stay away from Jackson Movers and Trinity Relocation Group as far as possible. They will take your money and provide substandard service with no sense of urgency on their part to provide any resolution."
"DO NOT USE. RUN AWAY. A broker hired them for our out of state move. They had 30 business days to get us our stuff so it sat in storage for almost two weeks which is absurd. They’re not licensed to move over state lines so do not hire for any out of state move. They tried to overcharge us and had us sign an estimate after services were completed. Totally illegal. When our things finally arrived, stuff was torn and broken. The 18wheeler they delivered on “couldn’t make it through our gate” so they made us go rent a uhaul to load our things onto and then left and we have to figure out how to get our things inside. Our other option was to pay $800 more for them to bring it upstairs . Horrible. I was told this was a door to door move they would set up furniture again. Run. Seriously. Run just do it yourself hire people to pack and unpack a uhaul."
