La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Chicago Gurnee

"Close to where we needed to be. Front desk staff after hours not very attentive. Had to arrive late, around 1AM. Person at front desk did not answer our phone call for more than 5 minutes. When I called to see if anyone was at the desk, he finally answered - clearly within earshot of the 5 minute ringing phone. This place wasn't anything spectacular. The elevator always smelled like pot. The rooms were clean. Shower was nice. Definitely not a cheap stay for what we got."

"My family had an unfortunate event that lead us to be homeless and we stayed at LA Quinta for an extended period of time. During our stay the breakfast was great and the room was very comfortable. My family swam in the pool a couple times which had way too much chlorine and they allowed guests to have parties, which it specifically stated you could not. The second time we swam, 3 of my family members got very sick. On the whole, the staff were wonderful. Unfortunately there was one girl behind the desk who consistently made our stay terrible. She gave us a problem anytime we asked for anything, whether it was a towel or a new room key because ours kept deactivating for some reason. She even went as far as to let me know I was jealous because she had a home to go to and my family was homeless she was an absolute nightmare. Now I am at 8 days without my deposit back and when I call to talk to the supervisor, the same horrible girl answers and tells me the supervisor isn't in. All in all, our stay was good. But this girl absolutely needs to be fired for her horrible customer service skills."

"Some of the front desk staff were very rude. They also forget to inform you that you would need a $100 deposit to check in and WONT receive it back for 3-6 business days. My room smelled like smoke which as non smoker was very uncomfortable. I did inform staff but nothing was done. I would not recommend . The elvevator inspection was also expired. Had a lot of trouble getting into it. . only great thing about it was the location."

"Our stay was perfect. We were able to check in a little early which was very helpful. We had two rooms. Both were right next to each other, remodeled and very, very clean. Comfortable mattresses and pillows. Sparkling shower with Dove soap, shampoo and conditioner. We had a mini fridge and a microwave in the rooms. The breakfast was excellent with cereal, bagels, a waffle machine etc. We were very close to the Naval Recruit Station which was very convenient as we were there for our daughter’s boot camp graduation. We had a great stay and excellent accommodations. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful as well. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you for such great service!"
