"Finally stopped in to make an appointment after many recommendations to reach out to Mel (@wickedwitchofstl on insta)! This was my first tattoo experience and it was FABULOUS. Mel was exceptionally kind about walking me through the process and let me know what to expect at each step. If you've looked at Mel's portfolio, it's no surprise that she put together a stunning design and even gave me three absolutely beautiful options to choose from. In addition to her lovely tattooing and artistry of a bloodroot plant (which I am absolutely obsessed with - I can't stop looking at my arm), Mel provided a warm and welcoming environment which really helped ease my anxiety and I loved the relaxed and fun vibes of the studio. "Melissa, a.k.a. “The Wicked Witch of St. Louis” I call her Mel (Let me know if I should not call you Mel, Mel? You have not said anything over the years. ).. Is an amazing artist!! Give great advice on items you want inked. She is also a piercer. I have not had any piercing done, but I am still young. Great tattoo shop and good friends. Mel knows what she is doing. I trust her on my inking’s. I have several tattoos from her over the years. I pretty much show her a picture, or discuss an idea. Mel works on it, shows you a proof, and then when you are happy, printed for some eyeball measurements, then BOOM, the Magic begins. Mel is a great artist. She has done some band design work for me, too. She always has great advice and suggestions. I do not think there is a tattoo that she could not do. Mel is also a great conversationalist. You will not find a topic she cannot discuss. In addition, I like that Mel uses the tegaderm bandage. It makes healing so much faster and less maintenance of the tattoo for three to five days, and it is waterproof. My two daughters frequent this shop and they both love Beka. The shop is clean and vibrant. They have a much laid-back atmosphere. “A lot of Mean Girlz Attitude” with a dash of spice. They only take appointments. I wish had had more arms to get them inked. So drive up there, show them what you got, and get it inked!"
