"In September of 2020 my wife and I were sitting at a stoplight in Centennial, Co. when our vehicle was struck from behind by a GTB truck which knocked our vehicle approximately 15 feet. My wife-age 70- was transported to the hospital by ambulance. The GTB driver was wearing a headset and indicated to me he had been in communication with the warehouse where he was going for instructions on where to drop his load. As of this date GTB's insurance co--Athens Administrators-has not paid anything toward my wife's medical expenses. We have had to pay medical expenses out of our pockets. The hospital has filed a lien against the insurance co. for the amount of the hospital bill $17,913.00. The Athens administrator is refusing to pay that bill. She said she is trying to negotiate a lower bill. She also has not reimbursed us for the medical bills that we have paid. She says it is their practice to pay all the bills at one time. My wife and I are in danger of having our credit rating damaged or ruined because Athens Administrators is not taking care of a debt caused by GTB. I have tried to speak with someone at GTB and they just pass me off to Athens. If GTB has insurance with a company (Athens) that will not pay claims my feeling is that GTB is not an honorable company. BTW--their driver provided incorrect insurance info to the officers at the scene of the accident."
