"The Grayslake Historical Society collects, owns, and preserves the artifacts. The Heritage Center is a separate entity and only displays what the society lends them. Both the Village of Grayslake and The Heritage Center owe a debt of gratitude to Charlotte Renehan. She's a whirlwind of energy that keeps everything going. Nice collection of historical items and ever-changing displays. Be sure to stop by during Christmas to see the trees decorated by various local organizations. Grayslake is fortunate to have this museum."

"Had a wonderful time visiting the Heritage Center to see art created by students and adults as well as more history exhibits on the second floor! Live music was performed by artists and of course we had to go to the Freeze and pick up a bite!."

"This place is really cool. The staff is really nice and willing to share knowledge about their museum and the city. There are 2 levels on the main level and they also have an annex. In the main building they have all sorts of artifacts from almost the beginning of the city. Really worth the time to come here. In the annex they have an original fire truck from the 50s that still works and they use it in the parades, also few other vehicles and machinery. The best part it is free to come here, but I would leave a donation though"
