"It is worth taking a tour of this cottage, learn the 112 year family history of owning this cottage. Take the boat ride, on Lake Geneva, too!"
"The actual estate was incredible and we liked it. There were 2 docents that guided the tours, we had Louise. Louise did not make any of the tour "come alive." She spoke in a monotone voice, it sounded like she was reading from a script, and it sounded like one long run-on sentence. If you've ever had THAT one professor...Louise was her. The younger man that was the other docent sounded much more enthusiastic. We still enjoyed the tour, grounds, and boat tour but Louise could use some re-training."
"Beautiful mansion! The docent was so knowledgeable about the home and was open to questions along the way. It was so interesting to discover the last family memory of the Schlitz family gave the home and all it's contents, to the Wi Historical Society. There were old clothes and even corked bottles of extremely old medicines. Great tour! I really enjoyed myself as a solo member. (I absolutely LOVE that there was a PRIDE flag displayed on the mansion!)"
"After years of doing this tour, the volunteers now have it down to a science - very knowledgeable and keep one's attention. Black Point is only accessible to tour via the Geneva Cruise Line tour boat. The price was quite reasonable given we got a narrated partial Geneva Lake tour as well on top of the 90-minute tour of the home. As others have said, there are 120 stairs - but there's a railing and the steps are shallow - probably about 7 flights of stairs. Gives a great sense of the affluent life from the late 1800s as well as Lake Geneva history."
"Great boat trip (only way you can visit the estate) with interesting info about the area led to a tour of this historic home. Amazing how much the family donated of their personal effects. It is truly a step back in time. The 120 steps up to the house are not too steep, with a lot of landings and places to take a break if needed. Would recommend!"
