"I started this process in January and it’s now June. I opted for hiring a lawyer instead of filling the request with the county clerk for my birth certificate so in case of a follow up needed I’d have the support of a professional. So he requested my birth certificate with the clerk and they found no record, I was born in the states but lost my documents in a flood and the lawyer was unable to help me obtain my birth certificate. "I had a complicated document that I needed from Mexico. I live in Seattle and I am applying for my Italian citizenship. The Italian consulate required a copy of my mother's marriage certificate from her second marriage (she and my stepfather got married in Cancun).
