"Place sucks for truck drivers"
"Update 11/22/2023 Well I worked for them for about 5 months. Their system is good for their mission. I was just not used to work the way they have it set up. I was used to run as close to 70 hrs while staying out 3-6 weeks. But PDS has their system so their drivers can be home for 34 hrs reset. If you spend 24 hrs awaiting for a load you get $150 Layover the best in the industry. It may happen on the Troy, MI, El Paso, TX terminals but never happened to me in the Buffalo, NY or Laredo, TX terminals. All in a steady $1,600-$1,800 take home a week. And resets at home not bad at all. The Maintenance team is PENSKE. In Troy,MI terminal they are Top Notch!! Didn't try them in Laredo or Buffalo. But OMG!! the maintenance guys in El Paso Terminal my home terminal they are AWFUL!!! On my 1st trip out. After my Pre Trip I was about to leave I was stopped because the truck that I was assigned and had been sitting there for the week that I was in Orientation need it a P.M. service. 5 hrs later I got the truck back. OK,, PM just performed, I do a quick walk around, see that they put some new tires, all seems good take off. 200 miles down a low tire air pressure and immediately a blown Drive tire. Call it in Loves comes change it and while waiting I check the other tires some other low as well and others over inflated. I check oil level to see if it was good as the tire pressures were off. Couldn't see no oil on the dip stick. Stopped at the next truck stop. 3 Gallons took to bring it to the operational level. It was my fault because I A.S.S.U.M.E. The maintenance guys were professionals. 2 trips latter I put a work order for the El Paso maintenance to check the drive brakes as they were screeching and to get the Sleepcab A/ C to work as it was not cooling. 34 hrs reset and I was called that the truck was ready. 500 miles down the road my drive tires are smoking I stopped, as the front drive drum was bright red and smoking so in case it caught fire I decided to decoupled (unhook) trailer. When road side assistance arrives and check brakes a craw bar used to pry the brake was still there. The mechanic says he didn't work on brakes that it worked on the a/c and probably the bar fell from the catwalk and it ended in the s- cam . The last time I requested service in El Paso, the APU unit needed to be repaired. I took 48hrs reset I returned asked if the work was performed, they asked me what work? Look at the computer "oh I didn't see it" come back next day they are awaiting ordering parts. Next day it would take 2 days to parts to get there. I asked for a rental and PDS local manager said they have already all the rentals allowed. So spend a week home and then by the time the truck was ready I was driving for some other company. All in all... Not bad company, just don't service your truck in El Paso. The Buffalo terminal manager and team are 2nd to None!! Beat down facilities but Great People!! Original review.. I am a new hire. Just attended orientation, during which I was explained the pay. I was told during recruiting that it was .55cpm to it was explained to me during orientation. Well you get paid.44 cpm taxable, then .12 cpm per diem witch is non taxable. But if you take in consideration that you take home $69 more dollar on per-diem that adds .03 cpm so you are actually making .55cpm.... WTH!!! (You don't make a 30 inches blanket longer by cutting 3 inches from the top and saw it back at the bottom. It will still 30 inches if not a .25 inch shorter because of the cut.) So they want you to believe that taking that money that you already have been paid, divided between the miles you drove will make your payment higher. No, you are paying .52cpm. I have already invested this week on Point Dedicated. They already failed me by deceiving their pay structure. I just hope they follow up with the promises of high milage as I am used to run 3,300 to 3,600 in 6 days or approximately 70 hrs of Service. At .52cpm should be $1,700 to $1,800 a week Wich is not bad. So I will update in a couple of weeks."
"Everything was fine until their system was "hacked" and they stopped giving me full compensation for my miles."
"Point dedicated should be called point disappointed. You never leave after your 34 hrs reset and never make your full 35 3600 miles weekly. They only pay you for half of those miles due to the fact that you don't make the full miles by the end of pay period which is Saturday. Imagine doing 3600 miles and only getting paid $800. They scam you out of miles and pay. Looking for another company do not run with them big waste of time"
"Best runs, best people. I will retire from this company."
