"I have used H&R Block for the previous 10 years and have always been pleased with their knowledge and professionalism. This year I had a totally different experience. The tax professional would not allow me to take the forms home for my husband to sign due to a recent policy change. As he explained a spouse had filed jointly and when taking the forms out of the office for signatures had evidently had her boyfriend forge her husbands signature, therefore the policy change. I totally understood and had my husband drop by after work to sign the forms. Unfortunately the front desk personnel did not ask for ID which then makes the policy change seem ridiculous as anyone could have dropped in to sign the forms. A couple of weeks went by and I had not received notification that my taxes had been filed. I called the office and left a message asking for a return call. After 3 days and no return call I left another message and received a return call only to find out that they still showed my taxes as incomplete because they didn’t realize that the forms had been signed by my husband. The tax professional released them while on the phone with me but there was no apology or explanation for the error. Today I receive my refund in check form when the preparer assured me it would be direct deposited into my account as it had been for the previous 10 years. I am very disappointed in the level of service that I received this year. Past years have been a positive and pleasant experience but I have lost confidence in their service this year."
