"When i first went it was bassed of Pasadena. Waste of time. Dont do it, when i went there they didnt teach me nothing. Except make a weld look good. They dont teach nothing like how to gouge, how to set up a torch nothing like that. If you really want a good school i would recommend South Coast Welding Academy. Thinking about going there for my tig as i am a combo welder. No thanks to them. Only recomended stick on plate n pipe. Wished i wouldve known i would need tig n stick on pipe. Main two to make that money. Yet im certified in GMAW/FCAW/SMAW/GTAW/and SAW. Bet they never seen that coming."

"Andre Horn taught how weld. Welding makes you money. Money pays your bills, feeds your family. I knew nothing about welding before in went to IWA. NOW more than 10 years later I still weld. You have to be willing to learn, to work hard at it, and have an almost obsessive passion for the skill. And you will succeed. Can't come into welding half hearted. And no welder has passed every test. Stay committed and focused and the training pays off. I learned that with Andre Horn."

"I work as a piping qc in Houston area my brother in law works for dynamic where welders go test my wife and son attended iwa ... I wouldn't recommend it out of everyone that tested from iwa never passed the pipe weld test ... Or structural test iwa doesn't teach them properly they had undercut lack of fusion porosity.. The welders didn't know what to look for .. Iwa needs better instructors and more of them students would tell me what I've shown them techniques they never learned at welding school so if you attend iwa don't think your gonna break out as a welder as soon as you graduate from Iwa ... I wouldn't recommend iwa Tulsa welding school is a lot better and they actually simulate the actual work environment such as tight spots scaffolds and show you how to mirror weld and weld left handed if your right handed when you get put in a bad spot ... Cause not every weld is in jack stands and isn't a roll out another thing they don't teach at iwa is how to quarter a weld"
