"No compassion whatsoever. I was about 45 minutes late and I left a message on the voicemail but they never did. Call me back. And what was a disadvantage was that I could not get seen because if I would have had that phone call returned I would have been able to get seen. Now I have to wait another week to get seen but at a different location. I am in severe pain and they did not have any compassion whatsoever. It sounds like these doctors and health institutions. Just want your money or the insurance money and put compassion down the line. So they can see this and decide to ignore it. Or if they want to work on their compassion then they will take it to another level. But it is up to them. I just hope that it does not happen to another person. When someone is late and it's out of their control, it should not be the patient's fault. The doctor or the office should work. You went to the schedule."

"I graduated in 1988 and I could not have gone to a better medical school! The faculty was open minded and receptive to new ideas. During my time their I was active in medical politics in particular the Texas and American Medical Association. I also did well academically Which I partially attribute to the great environment they had there. Of course I had to work hard but I was rewarded for it with recognition getting to participate in a month long exchange program with China and being sent to the American Surgical Association meeting in San Francisco. All these experiences allowed me a broader education and made me competitive in procuring a excellent residency at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center. At the time I went there for medical school McGovern was highly focused on psychiatry which may not appeal to those who are like me interested in surgery as I was at the time but it was a god send. As most of the issues and treatments of patients requires understanding and working with people. This psychiatric background gave me a huge advantage over other medical doctors especially during my residency! To give you an idea of how well our students did in Psychistry compared to other schools during our third year rotation in it I scored in the top five percent nationally on what is called an in service exam. An in service exam is given for each clinical rotation and it is given to all students who complete the exam. Well despite doing so well nationally I was only average for my class! As I was applying for general surgery that I did so well in psychiatry yet only was average in my class for that rotation made those I interviewed with laugh. There is competition between surgery and psychiatry. Coming from the medical center with such great surgeons and all specialties is really helpful in procuring a great residency as by going to medical school there for medical school allowed me an opportunity to work with some of the best in the world. In summary going to medical school at McGovern Medical School will give you a well rounded medical education, prepare you to be the best medical doctor you can be and make you an extremely attractive candidate for any medical residency you apply for! You could not find a better medical school in my opinion!"
