"Haha, I was so smart at this school, that I would've been in first grade if I hadn't been too smart then forgot how to speak then forgot my smartness... It appears someone has lost their focus."
"Great school and very dedicated teachers and staff. We are so thankful that the school was able to quickly convert to online learning when Covid-19 first appeared in March. While my daughter misses seeing her friends in person, her learning was minimally affected as the school leadership and teachers organized quickly and effectively to enable real-time online learning using google meet and google classroom technology. There are some learning curve / growing pain of course but they were addressed quickly. Our students are very resilient and resourceful group. In spite of the curveball Covid-19 threw them, they learn quickly to embrace online learning. I watched them help and encourage each other such as reminding their classmate to go online when they noticed someone is missing during their virtual classroom meeting; worked together virtually after “online class” in case someone doesn’t quite understand the material or just for companionship. It is amazing to see how helpful and kind her peers are to one another. This fall, the school offered hybrid model of online and in-person learning, depending on each family’s Covid-19 risk tolerance. The students opting for in person learning are required to wear mask. There are plexiglass dividers installed on each individual desk. Lockers are unavailable to prevent congregation between classes. All in all, we are very happy with our decision to send her to Saint Thomas’ Episcopal School and would highly recommend it to our friends, neighbors and family."
"Best choice we made for our kids. Don't underestimate the small campus or small student body, its education and staffs are by far the best we can ever experience. We strongly recommend the school and wish the best."
"I strongly recommend against sending your child here to the early childhood learning program or the preschool. It was by far one of the worst experiences that we've had as parents. The director of the preschool is very difficult to work with she does not listen to the concerns of parents. In addition, she's overtly rude to parents when they discuss the development of their child. The real issue, if I can summarize is that they believe that all children should function and develop in the exact same mannwe and if it's not in concordance to their way, then there must be something wrong with the child. When my wife and I challenged this it became an issue and it became clear that we were ostracized as well as my child affected. Additionally, the teachers have very little experience and they are all 1st to 2nd year teachers who are not experienced with 2 to 5-year old children. I found that they lack the patience and the education themselves for that type of teaching environment. Attempts to work with the school despite these flaws were always met with resistance from the program director. We were cooperative and tried to get our child additional assitance ourselves in areas needed. However, the director made it very clear that it would be her way or no other way. This review only reflects the early childhood learning program. The rest of the school has a gorgeous campus and the other experiences outside of the classroom were wonderful, which is why this review gets one star and not zero."
"St. Thomas is a really awesome school, that has done a lot for me. It doesn't have way too many extracurriculars, but there are many electives, and the language choices are pretty good. Latin is mandatory, but it really helps out in a lot of ways, and is a pretty fun class, once you get past the declining and conjugating and ablative absolutes:). The teachers are awesome, and will gladly help students out if they ask for it. the homework load isnt WAY too bad, but it is kinda hard. The emphasis on the core subjects is pretty strong, with science, math and english all being hard subjects. The science is pretty fun, the math is actually interesting, and the english really makes you think. The theatre department is also being upgraded, under the awesome direction of Mrs. Noelle Laufer. Overall, a very good school, with the ability to get you into top tier schools, like harvard, rice, stanford, etc., and is very good for other schools as well like ut, baylor, etc."
