KIPP CONNECT

KIPP CONNECT is a secondary school located in Houston, Texas, United States, with a vision to create a learning community focused on college readiness. Students are empowered with the beliefs that they belong, can become their best selves, and persist in pursuing excellence and justice. The school offers a rigorous, college preparatory curriculum with AP courses and a fine arts program, as well as a variety of sports including volleyball, soccer, basketball, and baseball.

All ninth and tenth graders enroll in AP courses, with a focus on literature, composition, and math to accelerate their progress towards AP math courses. Daily advisory meetings help build community and provide support for academic goals. Students can also participate in various activities and clubs such as Student Council, the KCHS Literary Magazine, and the math honor society, Mu Alpha Theta.

Dr. Kyndra R. Tyler, Ed.D., serves as the interim school leader, bringing 17 years of experience in education to the role. Dr. Tyler believes in creating trusting relationships to drive substantial change within organizations and is dedicated to helping school leaders achieve their goals. She holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Organizational Change from Baylor University and has received multiple awards for her contributions to education. Dr. Tyler is also actively involved in committees such as the Texas ASCD Local Arrangements Committee, organizing the 2022 Texas ASCD conference.
