"My son loves this school and he is really performing well in his academics thanks to his teachers. Yes they are very strict and top notch on discipline (which is obviously the problem with most of the youngsters who have commented here). With my experience running a business which allows high schoolers as employees, one of the things I’ve learned is that most of them hate discipline and the moment they are taught ethics and discipline, they find it difficult as well as the crappiest place they could ever been in. Ask my son and he will say that he loves the school. So, I would suggest to parents, not to take the comments of only a selected number of kids who hate a school environment. My second son is going to middle school this year and I’m going to gladly send him to this school without second thoughts. He is excited to go there as well watching his older brother. Also, even though I’m not a working psychologist, psychology being my area of study and years of dealing with children, one thing I have to say is that - children who can not handle correction and discipline at school, will never succeed in their life as they will not be able to handle challenges that they are going to face as adults. This is guaranteed."
"I went here for sixth and I'm going back for eighth. Honestly, I can agree that there are so many fights. But, the discipline when I was there was very strict. Detention for being late? That's not cool.. My other middle school didn't do that at all. And I hate how all these schools dress code kids if they wear cameos. If they are hot, they're forced to sweat all day. because a boy will get an erection if he See's a girls shoulder. It's ridiculous. I can agree with the skirt/dress code rules because nobody wants someone staring up their skirt when they are going up the stairs. I don't like lunch detention because I feel extremely embarrassed, I want to cry. I honestly don't talk to anyone.. I don't have friends. The students are extremely rude. Can't be helped. Teachers havent stopped students from sliding down the stair railings. My opinions on the teachers are: The teachers I had were wonderful! They were understanding and very helpful of a student didn't understand. But the gym teachers didn't care much about anything and the are a bit scary.. But overall it was alright when I went here. The halls get very cramped and people are clinging to each other and horse playing. Some people just want to get on an get educated by getting to class quickly but everyone is stopping them. Overall I'd rate the school 2 stars."
"My son is always telling me how there is favoritism for the athletic students. Teachers don't discipline them. He says there are a lot of fights also. My son is in athletics and an honor roll student. It is a ghetto school in the middle of the opposite of ghetto neighborhood."
"I use to go there it was a big change to do, but the students are really ghetto, and the principle assistance's don't do anything; such as you're getting bullied. There are so many fights every day, and mostly for that you really don't learn much, and the teachers they hired can not teach now that I moved I get what a teacher was trying to teach me. I recommend to not to put your child in this school district."
"My family and I just moved here three months ago. My daughters, 8th and 6th grade, were very nervous about starting a new school. When I read the post about racism and stereotyping, I was a little concerned. Let me assure you all that every teacher, counselor/ administrator, and coach that my daughters have interacted with have been nothing but kind and helpful. The office staff has been extremely helpful as well. My kids come home with horror stories about things that went wrong that day and it never fails that the next day some teacher or administrator gives them the motivation they need to resolve the problem or issue. I know it is still early, but I can already tell that my kids are going to gain a lot this year with regards to knowledge and encouragement."
