"I’d encountered a scheduling conflict and sought to cancel within the designated timeframe to avoid charges. However, when requesting a therapist switch, they opted to refer me elsewhere, making me feel like I'm now their problem. As a master's student in marriage and family therapy, I have a profound understanding of counseling. The last session was disappointing, involving exercises like writing letters to those who hurt me, reading self-help books, and isolating from trusted friends. The approach, including suggestions of family therapy and questioning if my sisters and I are borderline, felt inappropriate. Labeling with a diagnosis and pushing for medication seemed excessive. I sought help, not someone imposing opinions and causing added stress through numerous homework assignments. Two sessions were enough; I won't continue with their counseling."
"What a joke, I called to make a new patient appointment. The women that answered the phone asked for my first and last name, my phone number and then the phone went dead. I called back and told the same lady that I had just called and we were disconnected. She replied, no Ms. Van Asperen we weren’t disconnected. I got your information and I forwarded it have someone call you when they have time. In other words, she hung up on me because she hadn’t stated any of that prior to the first call ending. Phone etiquette training needed. I did receive a call back the same day, she asked me to call back on the 12th And someone will schedule an appointment. Really! Why did you even call me back. I called back on the 12th…someone will call you back when they have the time. Wow what a waste of time oxygen"
