"They do nothing to help a kid being bullied. I have called 3 times to get help for this. I keep being told we will get the kid out of class to find out what's going on. It's been a week and nothing. I wonder how upset they would be if it were there child being bullied and noone would help them. If something happens to this kid and they continue to turn a blind eye. Holmes you will be to blame. Update 4/9/2019 There are so many fights at this school daily! Do Not send your kids here it is not a healthy environment. If your child is in a fight in will end up in the internet! School is awful!!!"
"The school is Decent, the only problem is that Everyone keeps to themselves and the staff doesn’t really help you at all it’s more of a Do it and find it and handle it yourself kinda school so if you need help with something it’s best just to do it yourself."
"Lots of these reviews are from teachers or parents, ill give this to you from a students eye, many of the teachers here are ok, some are not. I have known two teachers to “blow up” on a class and have known teachers to straight up cuss at kids. There is a high chance your kid might get bullied here if they are a “unique” kid. The councilors and teachers do the bare minimum about it, a phone call to the parents and that’s about it. The school lunch is free thanks to the school being a title 1 school, but that doesn’t mean it’s any good. Many kids i know have told me how they have thrown up do to old or undercooked food here—so if your kid has a sensitive stomach you may want to consider sending them with something to eat. There are many fights on the campus, an average of 10-20 a year. Currently there is construction going on but is projected to be done by December 2018. This campus isnt all bad though, it does pay for your kids PSAT and SAT, tests that are required if your kid is going to college. Along with that it also pays for AP tests, which increase your kids chance of getting accepted into a college. There are many extra-curricular activities—sports, music, theater, journalism, committees and clubs, etc. there is a drug problem: weed, xanax, the works. all in all this school is what your kid makes of it. Just make sure your kid hangs with the right groups, help them with grades, and talk to them about how they are and everything will be fine."
"Wonderful High School for a major city. My son is doing so well there. They are on top of technology, safety, and up to date teaching methods. It is an enormous campus to anyone from a small town. So far the education opportunities are unlimited. You get out what you put in to it."
"The teachers are all very attentive and enthusiastic as if they really wish for the students to succeed. I have had an absolutely positive experience so far especially with the band program! I love this school!"
