About the Business
The (Ghost) Note Drum Shop & Music School, located at 411 East Sycamore Street in Denton, Texas, has been helping creatives discover self-expression through music since 2012. Originally a boutique drum shop offering drums and maintenance/repair services, the institution has now expanded to a full music school offering private and group lessons in drums, guitar, piano, bass, voice, songwriting, and music theory, as well as student bands.
Incorporating audio production and recording into all lessons, students are able to hear themselves back as they learn and even write and produce their own music. The institution also has an online drum shop where students can purchase services and gear, as well as an online new student enrollment form for those interested in joining the music school.
Highly dedicated teachers at The (Ghost) Note make lessons fun, foster a love for music, and help students reach the next level. One grandparent of a drum student said, “The (Ghost) Note has highly dedicated teachers who make lessons fun, foster a love for music and take their students to the next level.” Another parent praised the institution as “a great place to learn to play drums, guitar, keyboard and beyond,” adding that students learn the fundamentals with music that interests them, rather than just rote pieces from a book.

"A great place to learn to play drums, guitar, keyboard and beyond. Learn the fundamentals with the music that interests you and not just rote pieces from a book."
"Colby is a great guy and a great teacher! I've been playing drums for over a decade and he not only explained techniques to me that I'd never used before, but also provided great practice material between sessions. He knows what he's talking about when it comes to music and the lessons are well worth the money. Very chill dude and I've had a very pleasant experience 9 lessons in so far. Glad he teaches all ages and skill levels as well."
"We walked into the Ghost Note and were completely blown away. The guys in the store were so friendly. What started as window shopping quickly turned into drum lessons for my niece. Colby is an excellent instructor and is super knowledgeable and informative when it comes to anything about drums or music. The Ghost Note is THE place to be if you are looking for lessons or anything drum related in Denton."
"These guys did their famous "5-min drum lessons" at an event that we threw and they were the HIT of the event. All the kids (and even parents) wanted drum lessons. From beginners to wanna-be-rockers, these guys are the real deal!!"
"I went here to get all my heads replaced since it was relatively close to home. I could have done it at Guitar Center or outsourced it professionally, but when I walked in I was floored by their prices. To give an impression of what you're dealing with, I have a 7-piece kit: 5 toms, a snare and a kick. I had them put coated ambassadors on the batter sides and clear emperors on the resonant sides of all the toms, a coated emperor on the batter side and a clear emperor on the resonant side of the snare and an Evans EMAD and EQ3-black on the kick. The whole thing cost me a little less than $300, nearly half if what Guitar Center was planning on charging me. Plus if you buy anything from them, they include free installation and tuning. It's well worth it, and these guys are awesome!"
