"They will certify your loan after you saying you can't make it. Thus, be sure, because even with extenuating circumstances, they don't care. They won't release your loan back without you paying the $1000. If you don't then your credit is screwed or you are paying a loan that went to US Aviation and you got nothing. Understand that they are in it for profit, and it's easy to get poor communication when everything is email, and nothing in person. Responsibility falls on you, who signs, because Sallie Mae will just trust the school and essentially disperse 100K without ever seeing if your in the seat."
"Great school. Very friendly staff. Very reasonable with prices and training."
"Not really sure how this place keep their doors open, honestly.... -Communication is terrible. You're left trying to figure a lot of stuff out on your own, and while I was prompt in replying with any and everything they needed from me, I can't say I received the same in return. - You'll get contradictory instructions from almost everyone you talk to and only when I physically would ask person A to go confirm with person B would there ever be a solution to the problem. - The lady running the VA intake system will literally argue you with you over the phone and likes to play word play games when you cite something she said to you in a previous conversation and then outright deny it. She literally had me call the VA education office for clarification on getting intermittent repayments while going through the program, and the VA said yes - they can do that. When I called her back, her reply was "the VA is lying", and then proceeded to tell me that USAA doesn't do intermittent processing of payments, so you basically have the option of having the cash on hand, or using one of their many predatory lending services to cover the costs until the VA reimburses you at the end. To think that this is the face of the person they have elected to deal with veterans is a bad business strategy. - Missed a start date in Feb after they processed my certificate of eligibility because no one communicated anything past that. Only after I sent a message asking "what's next" was I told I'd be required to place a 4500 dollar deposit if I wanted to secure a seat in Feb. Turns out I still missed it. -Was told ground school times were from 4-6, only to find out later that they're actually from 1-3. I told them up front I work and would have to attend zoom for ground school after work. They said it was fine because times were from 4-6. That was not the case. - Was told I'd need to pay for test prep books and attend ground school to pass the written.....even though I already took and passed the instrument written back in December. - Was told gopro cameras aren't permitted and would only be allowed on a 'case by case basis'. I explained that I filmed lesson flights for proper debriefs. I don't post boring lecture flights on the internet, but was still told they'd have to review it on a case by case basis. As a paying customer, I should be able to document my instructional flights as long as there's no safety of flight issues, or structural modifications to the airplane - of which there were neither. - Finally disenrolled this morning after deciding it would be cheaper and more productive for my sanity to finish my IFR rating at a part 61 organization. They sent me a link to disenroll only to tell me an hour later that they were keeping a thousand dollars from my 4500 dollars. When i asked why, they said "applicant and administration fees". I asked them what they processed if I was the one who did all the calling to get them to get anything done. Also explained I'd never even stepped foot on the property, attended an orientation, or spent a minute in ground school. I was told "it was in your contract". A contract that I specifically questioned about these things and was told, and I quote....."Nothing on the docusign commits you to a payment. The price guide is just for your guidance." "Signing it just means you saw how much we think your training is going to cost and that you know whar our hourly rates are as well as general funding policies." That was a lie. In the end, the lady was nice enough to talk to someone with common sense and in the end, I was only billed 300 dollars for "admin fees" versus a grand. The one saving grace that this place has going for them is Darika Chappell. She was the only person I spoke to in this entire rat race who actually seemed intent on trying to help me. Give her a raise before she leaves and finds a company who will pay her what she's worth. She definitely seems out of place in such a poorly run organization."
"US Aviation is the best flight school in the country. I researched every Part 141 flight school before I decided where to go, and US Aviation was the best. I moved from Washington state to go here, and I have not regretted it. The parking is a challenge because it is so popular. The A&P school is world class. And better yet, the Part 141 Professional Pilot school has the very rare Self-Check Examining Authority from the FAA. This means that students don’t have to wait for a DPE to get checkrides done. Flight schools are a very tough business, but this flight school is going above and beyond to accommodate students pursuit of flight training, and certifications. I completed Instrument, Commercial, CFI, CFI-I, Multi, and MEI at the US Aviation Academy part 141 Flight school. Liberty University has partnered with US Aviation Academy to provide VA funded part 141 Flight training with USAA as Liberty’s largest Flight Training Affiliate."
"I took my 5 year old son up a discovery flight. It was a total surprise to him. From the initial call to leaving the airport after the flight everything about this place and the experience my son and I had was top notch. Erica answered all of my concerns and questions on the phone ahead of time and took care of the booking. Miguel our pilot was awesome. He was so professional and very patient with my son. It was my son's first time to ever be in an airplane so we had no idea how it was going to end up. It ended up being a lifelong memory. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a chance to get up in the air in a safe and friendly environment. We will be definitely doing this again in the future."
