"The room was a normal hotel room, the main areas are very nice, however, the "breakfast buffet" is extremely over priced! It's literally the average hotel continental breakfast with powdered eggs, meat, and potatoes. The most impressive part was the blueberries and blackberries."

"Connected to Marriott courtyard. They couldn't find a advanced pre paid reservation. Outside and hotel looked like a 1960's converted hospital but inside was rehabbed and more modern. Continental breakfast was way overpriced and both hotels were Marriott brands. Absolutely no free parking with room the parking garage was additional $15 per night had 20 night stay for convention. There is a walkway to the convention center but it's 1/2 mile long and no auto open doors if your lugging stuff and you have to take elevator up from garage down hall to another walkway down to another elevator and do it all over again. Absolutely no easy access handicapped parking and exceptionally poor signage throughout convention center and hotels. No money in registers and everything must be paid by card. Room was ok. Price was moderate but you couldn't go outside for walk or fresh air without being hit up by a homeless person looking for a cigarette or money outside! At night town area this hotel is situated in is about as seedy as you can get. Might have been nice 30 yrs ago but lack of money and closed down/ run down businesses are everywhere. This was by far the absolute worst hotel stay I've personally every had. The closest I could compare it with would be the hotel in the middle of Cabrini Green on the South side of Chicago in the 80's if anyone remembers that. This will be my last Mariott stay anywhere! The lack of attention in maintenance and money for basic upkeep in the general hotel shows everywhere. This would be my last choice for a hotel. Not a place for kids. Handicapped or safety after dark. Even the daytime it's run down and homeless or people looking for money is non stop. Unfortunate to see that with people but certainly not where I would expect to see a Mariott brand."

"We recently stayed at the Marriott Pere Marquette and had an excellent experience thanks to the front desk person Mohammed. He patiently answered all of my questions regarding our stay. Mohammed's exceptional customer service skills truly made us feel valued as a guest. Hotel is located central to the city center close to all venues. Our room was clean and the breakfast was great."

"Great rooms, and great customer service upon entering. The concierge lounge when I went wasn’t open, but enjoyed the walking distance to places. Only problem I had was breakfast when I went to buffet and asked the guy for egg white omelet he said there were no egg whites? He didn’t even try to crack the eggs to make one. So one major downfall. Also, didn’t have oatmeal. So I was very limited on what I could eat."
