Reviews of David Berry, MD: Austin Perinatal Associates: Maternal Fetal Medicine & Genetic Services
"From the very beginning, our experience with Dr. Berry and his team was exceptional. Dr. Berry himself was an absolute gem. His knowledge, expertise, and genuine kindness put us at ease throughout our entire pregnancy journey. He took the time to answer all our questions thoroughly and patiently, explaining complex medical concepts in a way that we could easily understand. His calming demeanor and positive attitude instilled a sense of confidence and trust that we truly appreciated. Particularly when being referred to an MFM, it’s already nerve wracking knowing there is some complication or potential issue to be on the lookout for during your pregnancy, so having a doctor with so much expertise (ie. conducting a CVS, managing / treating pregnancy induced hyperthyroidism, advising on potential fetal growth restriction) and who genuinely cares for his patients was so important. But Dr. Berry wasn't the only amazing person. The nurses in his office were equally amazing. Every interaction was marked by their professionalism, friendliness, and efficiency. Whether it was drawing blood, conducting an ultrasound, or answering our seemingly endless questions, they did it all with a smile and a genuine desire to help. They made us feel comfortable and cared for, going above and beyond to ensure our experience was positive. We cannot recommend Dr. Berry and his team highly enough."
"Terrible experience. One star is generous. I strongly recommend asking your doctor to refer you to another facility; this is a pivotal step in pregnancy and you shouldn’t have to endure such a disappointing experience as we did. Firstly, I'm not inclined to write reviews, given they consume more time after an already frustrating ordeal. However, I hope that by sharing our experience, future patients might choose a different facility and that this one takes note and addresses its glaring issues. * Navigational Nightmare: The facility is frustratingly hard to locate. Upon realizing it's situated within a bank and that the unlit interior doesn't mean it's closed, there's still the challenge of finding the actual office, tucked away down an obscure hallway. We were forced to seek directions from another office. * Lack of Amenities: Absurdly, there's no baby changing table in a facility meant for expecting parents. * Ultrasound Restrictions: A placard blatantly stated “No pictures or videos” during the ultrasound. Contrarily, our previous facility actively encouraged capturing these cherished moments. While the technician assured us we’d receive photos at the end, we were handed a mere two of poor quality, haphazardly torn from a roll. In comparison, our previous experience provided approximately ten diverse images, encompassing various angles and 3D renderings. Who would proudly display such inferior images? * Unaccommodating Staff: Our baby wasn’t positioned optimally for photos. Instead of attempting to reposition as our previous facility had by massaging or suggesting movement from the mother, we were simply told to return in four weeks. Must we pay twice because they refused to make an in-the-moment adjustment? * No 3D Images: Part of the 20-week ultrasound excitement is viewing distinct features. This facility denied us that joy. An acknowledgment or explanation would’ve sufficed, but we received neither. * Logistical Chaos: Post-ultrasound, we were informed of a potential room change for the subsequent nurse appointment. This forced my wife to dress, only to undress again shortly after. Why not conduct everything in a single room? * Further Delays: After a satisfactory blood pressure check by the first nurse, we had to wait for the next nurse. This period in prospective parents' lives is profound. The opportunity to visualize and ascertain the health of their unborn child is monumental. Denying parents the chance to capture the occasion, providing subpar images, and overall delivering a horrendous experience is inexcusable. I urge this facility to recognize the gravity of their role in these moments, and the indelible memories they create – for us, sadly, they're far from pleasant."
"Dr. Berry was wonderful throughout our pregnancy with our son. He was sensitive to the fact that I needed a lot of reassurance after a history of losses, and his whole staff was kind, accommodating, and understanding of my needs. He was also very good at respecting patient preference, and gave me sound medical recommendations while also clearly understanding that it was my body, my baby, my choice (so many doctors forget the concept of informed consent). He also never rushed us through an appointment, which is amazingly rare these days. I’d give him more stars if I could!"
"Only giving a one star because I have to give one. I’ve been there once for my pregnancy and was suppose to go for a second time. I was never informed that my child could not come with me. Today I was forced to leave my appointment due to having my four year old with me. You would think that an office that specializes in fetal monitoring would understand a mother needing to bring her child to an appointment. It’s a hard situation to already need a specialist for a pregnancy and having no help from family or friends with childcare being kicked out of an appointment made it all worse. The care I received with my first appointment wasn’t anything to rave about either. I would definitely recommend searching for another doctor that can better service your health needs and understand that you are a mother. My OBGYN is not happy with the events that happened."
"I saw Dr. Berry and his staff through my pregnancy due to being on blood thinners and I cannot recommend them enough. There are no dumb questions and you never feel like they are in a rush to leave the room. Dr. Berry and his staff make sure to truly explain everything to you that you leave feeling educated and confident. This was extremely important to me since this is my first pregnancy and I’m high risk. I will definitely be using his office again for any future pregnancies."
