Reviews of Pete's Dueling Piano Bar
"Let me just say this is a super fun place and we had a great time. No one in our party of four had never been and we weren’t sure what to expect. We paid for VIP, which I highly recommend because seating is close to the stage. The entertainers were great and very engaging with the audience. We didn’t have any food, only drinks. Drinks are super expensive and low quality, dive bar type drinks with a lot of cheap mixers. Service was horrible. We ordered several drinks and it took way too long to get them. We asked three times and two hours later someone, not our waitress brought us 3 (for four people). We didn’t see our waitress for long stretches. You are expected to tip the performers HEAVILY. It is mentioned at least every few minutes. This is what the show is all about basically. Bottom line, we had a really fun time and will probably go back, but it is just a dive bar with fun entertainment. Don’t expect craft cocktails, comfortable seats and great service."
"This bar is ridiculous. I’ve been in multiple times with my fiance with no issues. We came in on a Thursday night with our friend, went to the bar, my friend and I ordered a drink and shot. Served. We go back up after 30 minutes and ask for a second shot. Mind you, we’ve been to dinner, wanted somewhere fun to hang out. The short bearded bartender tells us “hey I don’t feel comfortable serving you two” I don’t get it, no problem, we’ll take a couple waters. My fiance goes to the bar and ask for a rumple it’s served. 20 min later we go to tab out and my fiance and I ask for a shot, served. Our friend, who hasn’t been drinking, I ask for a shot. Denied. We are service industry. We understand telling customers no. There was no reason for him to deny our friend. Bartender discriminates. We were coming out to check out for a Bach party. But they will never get our business again. The guys playing piano were great and fun. Bartenders, odd how I go to the bar with my friend and get denied.but I go to the bar with my fiance;, we’re served."
"I enjoy going to piano bars! Went to Pete's in Austin and Fort Worth back to back nights. Pete's in Fort Worth is much nicer than Austin, more seating/standing room so it's not over crowded like Austin. They both have different rules on cover charges. Musicians were very good and played a variety of genres. If you have never been to a piano bar they are worth going to."
"accidentally stumbled upon this hidden gem while wandering downtown. We showed up just 10 minutes before it kicked off, not having a clue about what awaited us. Let me tell you, it was an absolute blast! We had the most exhilarating time, rocking out to some epic old tunes. The crowd engagement and humor kept the energy sky-high. Counting down the days until our next visit – it was that good!"
"If you like to sing to classic songs and drink - this is the perfect place. Came with a birthday party group but everyone was so friendly, you could come alone and have a good time. The drinks that came free with our package were rather weak, but the ones after that were typical. Bathrooms are typical bar ones: small, not that clean, and definitely not enough toilets. Also, when you walk by the men's, you get to see them peeing in the urinals. Yuck! (Who thought of that layout.) The bar is upstairs but there's an elevator if anyone needs it. We sat right in front of the stage. Great seats but you are so crammed in there, wouldn't be bad a little farther back. The mics and music is really loud so even if you can't see, you will have no problem hearing and singing along. It's a full night show. I think they go until 2a. We left at 12a (got there at 9p), 4 different musicians and they also play electric guitar and drums! If you aren't in the mood to let your hair down and sing, this may not be your thing. However, there was some foul language and GD was used once. Not a fan of that. (Hard to go anywhere anymore where it isn't.) Would I go again? Maybe."
