I had both the labor and c section experience with him both of which I feel was as good of care as I could get. He is very straight forward yet comforting when it comes comes treatment and delivery. "I have been his patient for the last three years and both the treatment and the interest towards the patient has been deficient from the first moment. During appointments, he was always in a hurry and did not answer my questions clearly. But what has made me write this review has been the following. In March he sent me an annual mammogram (better to say that I asked for it) and so I did. At the place where I had the mammogram, they told me that in a couple of days my doctor would receive my results and in a week or ten days I would receive them by mail. My surprise was when a week later I received a letter expressing concern about one of my breasts and referring me to another center for an ultrasound. In those 10 days no one contacted me from the doctor's office. Make the appointment for the ultrasound on my own. In my ignorance of the American health system (I come from another country) and being my first time, I saw it normal to have a quick mammogram done along with the ultrasound, thinking that it was normal. My surprise is when I receive the bill from the place and I have to pay $650 because that mammogram is not covered by insurance since I had done one before... I call the office where I did it and explain that I make the appointment just to the ultrasound and to my surprise he tells me that Dr. Thompson sent them to do a Mammogram + Ultrasound..... WITHOUT HAVING TALKED TO ME!!!! His total lack of communication with the patient cost me $650. No more!!"

"Mark Thompson permanently blacklisted my wife from 20 ob/gyn providers after she had the *audacity* to consult a midwife for her pregnancy, no other reason. The pregnancy seemed normal by all accounts and we had absolutely no other problems, so we decided to visit a midwife. A few weeks later we received a termination letter out of the blue from Mark, thinking nothing of it because we already found better providers. What's more, once we were in the midwife's care, an ultrasound identified a very serious case of incompetent cervix, which put our baby's survivability at risk - she was placed on bed rest immediately. Mark failed to catch any of this. Today she is unable to receive care for serious issues due to what I can only assume is Mark's bruised ego, completely violating the Hippocratic oath he swore. It's also important to note that Mark received disciplinary action April 2009 for refusing to release patient medical records, choosing instead a suspension & to pay a fine - actions that strongly suggest he was hiding malpractice or other illegal activities. This man is egotistical and problematic, think twice before ever putting your health in his care."

"I met Dr Thompson when I went in for an emergency c section once. I liked him so much, I went back to him with 2 other pregnancies/deliveries. I healed really fast from his c sections and when I had someone else do a c section (I had temporarily moved to a different state), the other Dr actually complimented my previous c section (performed by Dr Thompson). I like that he tells it how it is. He is very honest, practical and down to earth. He won't sugar coat things. He also thinks he's funny and puts in a little awkward joke now and then. It's great."
