"Dr Jacobs was my doctor for regular gyn issues for years and I never had a problem with her until I needed her because I was pregnant with my first child. We were over the moon I was pregnant after being told I would never get pregnant without IVF. She referred me to Texas Perinatal group due to my age at the time 34 because It considered me higher risk. Not only was her referral the worst decision I could have made. I had an emergency cerclage at 22 weeks that was a huge mess at the hospital of going back and forth because no one had done their job right. After my cerclage that was performed by another physician in her practice she advised me she did the best she could but it may have been too late there was barely anything there for her to sow. Mind you I was seeing the specialist every two weeks to avoid this. The one she referred me to. Fast forward to me being 27 weeks and my water breaks (risk of an emergency cerclage). She will not deliver me and says I need to stay pregnant till at least 32 weeks. I voice my concerns about having no liquid for baby cause I was leaking a lot after my rupture. She told me not to worry about it, it replenishes itself. 3rd day there they take me off of IV fluids and take baby off of continuous monitoring cause we are showing no signs of infection. That morning at 7 am nurse comes in and says I’ve called the doctor because the baby is showing stress and her heart rate is dropping. ( on call doctor comes, another one of her practice) she tells me baby’s heart rate is back to normal and no need to worry. I ask her when should I worry and she said when we all run in here. Let me worry that’s my job. I trusted and believed her. They take me off the monitor after the episode and come back 4 hours later. They cannot find her heartbeat. Then the dread everyone runs in happens. I lost my daughter. Had I been continuously monitored it could have possibly been avoided. Dr Jacobs comes in the next day to tell me there was no fluid in my belly when they delivered me and there must have been an infection because they do not know what happened. I got the poorest care for everyone in her practice and from her referral. They failed me as physicians. I live with a hole in my heart for my daughter. What good is it that she practices at a level 3 NICU if they refuse to deliver you. Please please read the reviews. I did not because of the regular care I received from her. When we lost our daughter it was too late but we now know we are not the only ones."
"I was referred to Dr. Jacobs when I found out I miscarried at 11 weeks. At my consultation appointment, I waited 1.5 hours to be seen. Dr. Jacobs scheduled me for a DNC and prescribed misoprostol to make the procedure easier. The night I took the medication, it induced contractions and I passed my baby at home. I was told to still come in for my scheduled DNC appointment so they could do an ultrasound to make sure there was no tissue left behind. Dr Jacobs got irritated when I expressed not wanting to go through with the DNC (even though my miscarriage was already in progress). She came across as extremely cold and uncaring through the whole process. Furthermore, while I was at the hospital still having contractions and bleeding profusely, there were crazy amounts of people (medical staff and other hospital staff) in my curtained area badgering me. My husband did not accompany me to this procedure because he was trying to occupy our two year old who we woke up at 5:30am to come to the hospital. Everyone who came in kept asking me why he wasn’t here and acted like he was a terrible person for not being with me. We are a military family so we don’t have family who we can just call randomly at 5 am to watch our kid. Aside from that, a security guard was sent in to collect my belongings because I couldn’t leave them unattended during the procedure. She made me take everything out of my bag and count my money and show her all my cards (all while I was having contractions). At the same time, nurses were in and out asking me random questions and a chaplain was sent in to talk to me. The cherry on top of this situation was that Dr. Jacobs was in the room also asking questions while this was happening and didn’t have the decency to take care of her patient and ask for the room to be cleared while she was talking to me. To end this awful and humiliating experience, the chaplain was sent in when I was getting ready to leave and asked if he could pray over the baby. I’m not religious (my paperwork specified N/A under religious affiliation) but in an effort to get him to go away I told him sure, that’s fine, thinking he would go to wherever they took the baby and pray over it. A minute later, he brings the baby in in a freaking plastic cup and begins to pray over it while I just stand there, horrified. I chose St. Luke’s because of the midwives that provide care there and, while they are absolutely amazing, I would never recommend St. Luke’s to anyone because of this experience."
"She is pretty cool and excellent doctor. She made all my visits very fine. And her treatment will be very fine and very polite. No need to struggle anything if she is taking care of us. I was very happy to tell that i selected an efficient doctor for my pregnancy. She is great."
"Dr. Jacobs was kind and caring since I started seeing her. She accepted me as a new patient at 8 months, checked on me several times through labor, and was incredibly helpful through delivery. She continues to be helpful and accommodating post partum and I would recommend her to anyone."
"I really like Dr. Jacobs, but you need to understand that she is a somewhat cold person. It bothered me at first, but I grew used to her personality and trusted her medically. She delivered my first child. The only other negative thing I can say about her, is that it upset me when I felt rushed during my labor. I'd only been pushing an hour and she asked if she could use forceps... or a vacuum. I thought it was a bit impatient."
