Elmhurst Escape Room is a family-friendly institution located in Elmhurst, Illinois. We offer immersive and interactive puzzles that can be adjusted to meet the needs of all participants, from elementary school children to seasoned escape room veterans. With private bookings for groups of 2-10 participants, you and your team will have 60 minutes to solve the mysteries and claim victory. "Sherlock Holmes room is not really an escape room. It's barely Sherlock Holmes themed but should be categorized as EASY not "Standard". I can't imagine there's a 40% solve rate on this one. From previous reviews it used to be called "WORDS" and it might as well still be. If you go here, try one of the other rooms as they sound somewhat better. I went as an adult with four kids ages 8 to 16. Maybe that's why it was set up easier and they enjoyed it but it was their first one. This is the weakest escape room I've seen out of at least 3 others I have done. The only reason it took us nearly the full time is that we misheard two of the clues from the gamemaster. That said, Rose was kind and a good gamemaster who served us some good hints based on where we were at that point."
"I am not sure why this place has only 4 stars, but we had a wonderful time with the kids in the Winter Wonderland room. Yes, it's low tech and pretty simple looking, but it was perfect for kids ages 5 to 9 and the puzzles were pretty creative, not too easy either. It was super cute. The cherry on top was our master mind Rose. She was absolutely fantastic, very helpful and accommodating. She did a great job making sure the kids had a blast and solved the puzzle ALMOST by themselves:) We are definitely coming back!"
