Great Wall Chinese Restaurant

"Do not.. I repeat Do not eat at this place ...I went here for the first time got general chix and orange chix and a sweet sour chix...I literally live five mins away and it was cold as ever ...I called to address this issue and the woman gave me so much backlash like I was lying. Also this was a carry out order and waited 20 minutes for the food. She had the nerve to say they been in business for 50 years. I DONT KNOW HOW!!! You want quality chinese food go to Wongs Wongs...Best in Rockford ."

"Food was plain and not as described. Egg drop soup was thick, white and tasteless. Mongolian chicken is questionable if it was white ( as described in menu) or dark meat. Sweet and sour sauce was runny as was hot mustard and soy sauce. Went home hungry ."

"I remember moving to the Rockford area and searching Chinese food back in 2008 and this place popped up. I recall driving almost 20 minutes to obtain it as it was that good. Well today, Friday November 17th, 2023 i walked in raving about how it was the best I've ever had when i visited a number of times before; needless to say, i walked away feeling cheated and disappointed as the quality overall has changed. I questioned my food was it was brought to us in the matter of minutes, and it was cold.. i asked the owner, "is the food made to order or...? She replied, no, it's premade and you only get fresh when you order specialty dinners. I was greatly taken back and shortly after confirmed with my waiter who took 19 minutes to greet us from the initial walk in. He told me that it's true and took my rice only and microwaved it for 3 minutes, it was super cooked and hot, and not appetizing. I really hope they can update the place, and perhaps her a hold on what service is today in 2023 and beyond."

"Very unimpressed! First time there and I order shrimp egg foo young. No shrimp added and it's the first time I've ever ordered egg foo young it didn't have a brown Gravy. This also had a weird taste. See photo. Not at all have I ever had egg foo young that looked and tasted like this ever! Secondly, ordered shrimp toast. Which is exactly that. Shrimp and toast. This also was not good. When biting into what appeared to look like shrimp toast it did not have the consistency or appearance of shrimp inside. I thought it was sausage. See photo. Lastly, I ordered shrimp and lobster sauce. I could eat the the shrimp and it seem to be OK but lots of running egg that wasn't cooked. Ugh. I did get another container with pea pods, shrimp, carrots in a brown sauce that I didn't order. That was someone else order that im sure when they got home wasn't happy they did t get there paid what ever it was. Only one other couple was there so the place wasn't busy. Lots of take out order and if you paid cash they gave you a $1.00 discount. Not worth wasting your time to go there again! I will be taking back the food and reciept. Very unhappy! See photos. Not worth the time to go there. Also, I have never gone to a Chinese place where they have tables set up in restaurant selling lotions, perfume and knick knacks to buy. This is a restaurant not a flea market ppl!"
